Z-I-v Battle Royale 2018

Well RIP me. I would guess my song was too long (among other things).

I had a lot of HMs for this round. Overall the quality of files is a lot better than it has been in the past! Only 2 or 3 that I wouldn't have given points to at all.

I have very very brief notes if anyone desires feedback or my opinions.

Anyway, I kind of expected to not make it through (I mean, the files were really stacked this time around). I did see some said that the heavy chart was a bit too basic in terms of the charting itself, so I'll see what I can do with that.

Probably one of the more weirder songs I've ever stepped, but I hope that (as well as the intentional double-step during the chorus) doesn't take away from how fun it can be.

Decided to opt for a re-step this time around(I only really do re-steps, just so I have cuts & syncs already worked out for me, and not have to worry about losing points for using YouTube rips or GarageBand cuts).

Gave a more ITG-esque feel(I still feel I understepped the choruses, but let's face it. This is ZIv, not AIJ). Went for a old school DDR-like feel with lower difficulties.

One major difference from the original is that I added two slowdowns, and a few BPM gimmicks(plz dun CMod).

Any & all feedback on this submission (and my Man's Not Hot file) is appreciated (via PMs).

Wooh, I can't believe here I actually am, in the second round...
This song is in Mandarin Chinese and is by an artist from Taiwan; I first heard it (or, rather, parodies of it) in some Taiwanese commercials I found for Zespri kiwifruit online and found myself getting hooked onto it. I thought it would be suitable for StepMania charts so I decided to make some!

The title of the song is actually rather meaningful, as "xiang qian chong" means "dash forward" in Chinese...and here I am, I dashed forward to the second round which is something I never even expected to do, and I hope to keep on dashing forward to more rounds of the contest.

First off, a quick thanks for somehow getting middle of the pack for winners of Round 1. That has to be the best I've done in any of this so far, and that was one of my main goals, so I'm more than satisfied. Let's try being a bit more adventurous then...


Drew my own graphics for this one! Trying to be a simfile package triple threat someday, heheh. Still, I really wanted to have at least one chart with mines in it, because of all the wacky sound effects practically begging for it...but mines seem to be pretty hit or miss among players if you go too crazy with them. So the through charts have the lowest amount of gimmicks, while I attempted to make a fun-to-look-at chart for that I'd like to confirm is not as hard as it looks, but rated for being a tricky sight-read. Do dares equal votes? Technically no, given my past experience--but hey, I'm already in Round 2! I'm going to have fun with it!!

Sorry for no / or graphics. :( That's what doing things last minute can cause. I'll upload the graphics onto the thread once I'm done with them.

Once again, I had trouble locating a song (I had 28 choices), to the point I asked random people to give me a number for ideas on which one to settle on. This is a song from Simfile Shuffle 2016 where the given steps by HealingDMax300 were memorable, but... there were a number of flaws. Even though he ended up fixing it quite a bit, I still wanted to give my own shot at the song because it's super good.

Maybe enough people will like it to get me into the top 9. It's hard to say since decent files aren't enough now that we've removed the bottom/unlucky tier of steppers. Good night.
