| Comments | With “The Summer” placing in the mid pack of the 1st week of the 2021 ZiV Summer Contest, I have chosen fit in with the freeze gimmick for this week to chart “There Is A Star by Pharao” whose expert chart reaches the 40 beat/10 measure minimum. Pharao was a German act that formed in 1994 consisting of Egyption-Indian singer Kyra Pharao (Claudia Banerjee) and American rapper Deon Blue. Within their first single “I Show You Secrets”, it reached #6 in Germany to receive a gold disc, as well as charting in many countries and #35 on the Billboard Dance Club Play. There is a Star was the next single release, and with this high-NRG Eurodance track, they continued on their successes from their first single, charting at various countries including but not limited to, #16 Austrian Top 30 (8W) #7 Canda RPM Dance #3 Finland Top 20 #8 German Top 100 (17W) (Gold Disc) #43 Netherlands Top 50 (#37 in Top40.nl) #12 Switzerland Top 50 (15W) #14-Swedish Top 40 (13W) #38-Scotland Top 100 (2W) #43-UK Top 100 (2W) (#30 in UK Dance) After this single, Pharao would release their album “Pharao” and later on a third single “World Of Magic” which while reaching the Top 30 in Germany and Sweden, would not be as successful as the previous 2 singles. Pharao would take a break until 1997, where Kyra Pharao would go solo with “The Temple of Love”, but after the second single and album flopped (Once Upon A Time and The Return), Pharao would be discontinued soon after in 2001. Pharao would return in 2014 with various rappers alongside Kyra, but would just be another act in the retro dance scene. I am not that confident in this simfile once again, as I didn’t have as much time as the other simfile’s in the contest to analyze and perfect the patterns, especially doubles, but I hope it can place at least about the same as “The Summer”.
