Comments | Written by Henry Glover, this surf rock classic dates back all the way to 1960 when it was first released by an R&B singer named Joe Jones. (Not to be confused with Joe Jonas.) However, it wasn't made famous until 1964 when it was covered by a group called The Rivieras. While this would ultimately become the only hit single for The Rivieras, peaking at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, its legacy was firmly cemented when it was recorded by the Ramones for their second studio album, 1977's Leave Home. Because this recording is only 1:58, I decided to use the song in its entirety for DDR XXTREME. |
