Comentarios | This is Binary Black Hole from IIDX CastHour's unlock system. This song (or most importantly it's video) has a lot of references towards both previous songs with a similar genre, -65°C (the previous D.J.Amuro song from BISTROVER) and .59, the classic. I think it's an absolutely worthy sequel to -65°C, I loved that song when it was released and so I had very high expectations of Binary Black Hole when it suddenly appeared, and I was not disappointed at all. It's in the top 3 of my CastHour songs for sure. Those of you who participated in Battle Royale 2022 might remember that this was originally going to be the song I was going to submit in the very last round, which would have been the sequel to my -65°C file (which I submit in the final round of Battle Royale 2021 fittingly), but due to strategic reasons at the time I ended up going with Thunderbolt. For a while I thought this could be one of my VIP files for this contest as well, but I think it's a more fitting file for Week 10, the "end of the first phase". I know that someone else who had a similar thought with his final BR22 file might have the same plan, we will see. Obviously this file is really goddamn hard. I did not hold back at all, especially in the lowers. This is the hardest file I've made so far for this contest for sure. I think it is fitting to this theme, not just the theme itself but also the timing within the contest. There is a very large emphasis on the difficulty curve on all charts of this song, especially the lowers. Both the 13 and the 16 are absolutely ruthless. Here is the breakdown for the scoring in the ESP: 4 doublesteps - 5 points 11 crossovers - 10 points 15 jacks - 10 points 23 stepjumps - 10 points 1 footswitch - 5 points 3 "context tech" (in this case wadatsumis) - 10 points Total: 50 points In case you are wondering, the footswitch is right at b146. I wanted it to be a pattern that can be executed as both a footswitch as well as a jack. Though I have to say that I wrote the chart without thinking about the requirements, and then did not have to make any adjustments in the chart so that it works within the theme. Even though the chart is really not that "tech" IMO, it's really more traditional DDR-styled "boss song" if that makes sense. Creating this file has been so much fun. I can't remember the last time that the process of writing charts (important: not just the hardest chart) went so smoothly as with this song. I hope you have as much fun with the file as I did. Just watch out for that last part! |
