was preparing "Gas Gas Gas" by Tsuko G. (how had nobody stepped the original yet)
and it was going very well, I finished expert and beginner. maybe it will surface later

Wind instruments tho... I have plenty of options for that.
Might play into another recent project of mine too...

speaking of human voices... okay not really, but here's the file for [Wind Jammers].


Oh how this song had journey on Z-I-v.
It first started out as a skeleton for the last week of Simfile Tycoon 2017.
It just so happened that gatr ended up getting my cut... and proceeds to veto 5 times because reasons, basically.
He ended up stepping Cuzco's backup skeleton 'Pokemon World 2000' for that week because at the time no one on the site stepped it.
Then Battle Royale 2018 comes around.
gatr actually ended up stepping it for Round 2. I played it and while the chorus part was a bit lackluster, I still like it for what he was going for.
He then proceeds to swap it out for 'Came to Get Funky'. Figured 'Havana' was his troll file.
And this is when I thought: guess I have to step it myself if no one else (besides RIME and Cuzco, maybe) was going to.
And now we're here.

I held no ill will towards gatr really. He does what he does, even if I was a little salty back then. I did adapt some of his take on Havana into my chart mostly. Stepping along to the trumpets in the second half of the cut and the use of 12th notes in Camila's verses. Anyway, I kind of rambled on a bit and I need to sleep right now as it is 12:08 AM in Sydney now, so please enjoy and maybe some feedback for the file would be nice if you got a chance.

Unfortunately I'm going to be laying low for the next week or two- I might even have no choice but to drop out because our family's moving in a few months. Especially seeing how I've been doing the past two weeks when I put myself in a rush (forgot to add the files, accidentally added the earlier version of the chart), I need to wait until I have more time to focus on this. I really want to be a part of this, though, and I completely plan to.

...I have no idea what it is you're trying to say here. There's no rule that says you're only allowed to step EDM (and quite frankly that would be a pretty stupid rule).

I think it's your stepping skills that are causing you to do poorly, rather than your song choices.

Maybe that detailed chart making guide would help? I would link it but I forgot where it is. It's a lot to read iirc but it's worth it.

As someone who's been in the bottom half two weeks in a row, I shouldn't be giving advice myself lol

Yeah, I constantly forget where that guide is too. One of these days I should track it down and save the url somewhere.

I remember ddrstepper compile these chart making guides at the previous Summer Contest ago so here you go. This is worth to read for someone who are new at simfile making and tend to place at the bottom part of the leaderboard.
