Sounds like you got baby powder'd, my dude. Find whoever keeps doing that and inform them that Windex is the better option.
Windex works to a certain extent. Especially if there's a lot of dirt inside the pads, it loses it's grippy effect after a song or two or doesn't work at all. I've had sessions where I had to wipe down all 8 arrows several times. Glad one of our arcade's techs cleaned the dirt out and I haven't had to use it since. If you do use it, please don't spray it directly on the arrows and clean it like you would an LCD screen. A friend watched our tech clean it out and noted there was crusty dirt inside there.

I don't care if you're waiting, I want to play alone. It's my goddamn money and I want to play the songs I want to play. People who tut at those who play Doubles in an arcade are assholes, too.
This. Fuck you, and your wait time. It's really shitty to judge doubles players as well. If that's how they play then that's how they play. They have just as much of a right to the machine as you.
I strongly disagree with this. If you want to play singles, play at home. Increasing the wait time by 15 minutes because you don't want to share with another player is rude if there's 5 or 6 people there. Same goes for doubles. If it's quiet, doubles are cool, but if it's busy, just play singles.

I've never really had a bad experience with a DDR player's etiquette, mainly because I'm the one who isn't the best with DDR etiquette. I don't really mind when a double player is playing since, in the worst case it's just an extra set of songs I have to wait for. I've never had a case where multiple doubles players have been there, but I'd imagine that would be annoying.
Most people at the D&B I go to seem to keep track of people in line pretty well. I've never had any problems with people cutting in line yet, so that's a good thing.
One thing that I find kind of awkward is when someone acts really shy and doesn't say anything. At my D&B, a lot of players are really friendly and like to talk.
Once you get to know the people who are regulars at your DDR machine, etiquette never becomes an issue.

Doubles charts are completely different from singles. It's completely unfair to tell those who want to play doubles to play your way when they don't do that to you.And I have to wait behind singles players that wait every single menu timer down in their set. Literally every menu, from scanning eAmuse to song select (both the 90 second timer AND the extra 15 seconds after a song is picked). Then they have the nerve to still complain about doubles players "making everyone wait"
Sorry, if I had to wait an entire hour for 3 sets to be completed, you can wait 10 minutes for me to play my set of doubles when it is my turn. You can also wait because I let a singles person that is technically supposed to go after me pair up with the person before me just so I can play doubles without making that person wait even longer.
DDR is honestly the only time I've ever heard complaints about doubles. Pump regularly had 5+ people wait where all would play doubles and nobody even cared.

Best: Respects lines, respects people, respects the arcade (assuming that the management and the like are reasonable, if they're not they should just go to a better location, especially around me I'm fortunate to have choices)
Worst: me

Play DDRA at home? Hm.
And people having to wait longer isn't my problem. I'm happy to wait a long time too. I'm not sharing with another player unless I actually know them. Why should I pay for a full credit when I only get to pick one or two songs?

Basically - anyone who bemoans non-Versus players in an arcade is just a liiiiittle entitled imo.

I wouldn't be surprised if the same people complain about players who do play Versus anyway because they have to wait while they're around. People who complain about waiting longer only ruin their own enjoyment, really. No doubt, they'll have less fun when it comes to their turn also. There's plenty of stuff they could do instead to pass the time, like watching and cheering, talking with other players in line, playing other games, going on the net to post scores and stuff, getting water refills for all the players, or grabbing a book to read.

If you pick the same song twice in a set, and it's not because you're aiming for a combo/score, or if it's by accident, you're getting kicked in the head.
Kicking someone for making a mistake is sort of harsh, don't you think?

Playing a song twice in a set and playing it 12 times in a row are really... uh... different.

It’s broken me to the point that if it happens twice, I’m going to know where it’s going. Not nice, but I’m not a nice person. You should know this already.

It's also funny how casuals think Doubles is a two-player mode. Like... holy shit, it's NOT that hard to read.

While I understand that you might wanna pick all 4 songs, that's perfectly fine, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't at least let someone play on the other pad. When a person wants to pick all 4 songs at my local D&B, they can, but someone else gets to play the other pad, and it doesn't count as that player's turn (since they didn't pick any songs). And it's even beneficial to play versus, since you're much more likely to get extra stage.

Well maybe you aren't picking the right songs
This happens a lot for me when there are 3 people at the machine, me and two other close friends. Since the friends wanna play versus together, when it's my turn, one of them takes the other pad but let's me choose all the songs. That way, when my set is over, that person can play again with their versus partner.

I never tend to run into these types of players, mainly because I seem to be the only half-decent player around where I live. My only issues are wayward little kids running up next to me and flailing away while I try to play on heavy mode. I never really understand the logic of parents letting their child whom is barely old enough to walk stand next to a guy that's almost six feet tall and over 200 lbs moving around frantically.

On the subject of etiquette, how do you all feel about people who can't decide on a song? There have been times when I use the full 90 seconds searching for something to play, and I always freak out and worry that I'm taking too much time. That's why I feel the need to plan out my set in advance so I know which songs I'll be picking, and I get really nervous when I can't find it right away.
I think if it was another player taking a long time to decide, I wouldn't mind too much. That's what the timer's for, right? I might be a little peeved if they used the maximum time for every song in their set, but a few extra minutes of waiting really isn't that big a deal.

I don't mind if someone takes a while to select a song sometimes. I do that too. I don't mind if someone uses that time to rest either. Then again, my closest R1 is never that busy.
People who walk on the machine or the other pad (not kids, people) bug me furiously though. You guys need to stop before I step on your feet. And stop flailing next to people on the machine. Y'all ain't funny.
People who dip after one song bother me too (Funny enough this happens way more on the PIU machines)

Yeah, there's this concept called sharing where you each pick 2 songs to play. It's obviously not ideal, but it's way better then holding up the line because you think your songs are so much more important. I can understand it when there's only 2 or 3 other people, but any more than that and you're being a dick unless you're playing sets of 19s or something.
As far as doubles goes, I guess it's fine, sometimes it's annoying if there's a huge line and they're there for a long time.
