Are there any other files for Undercover I should know about!?
I'm just kidding, the song is great and I don't blame people for stepping it.
I imagine the votes:
Undercover +3
Undercover +3
Undercover +3
Undercover +3

lmao!

*shows up to Undercover week 5 days late, holding a pumpkin spice latte*
DISCLAIMERS: The above song was chosen without regards to what anyone else had picked. The difficulty might not be a properly-rated 11. It is probably both harder and easier in some respective areas.

So apparently sleep has become an afterthought for me as of late. Least it means I get things done. Sometimes that's just what you gotta do, right? Wrong Right.
From the album Hyper Glitch Hop 01.
Originally stepped by talkion--hey look, you got another one! Since you asked so nicely, figured it was only fair. Besides, it gave me a chance to tackle Megarex again, so no complaints here. Gave the file my own light gimmick spin, like I'm wont to.

Since it's near the end for voting for [ZIv Airlines] and for submitting files for [Flash Back 90] in 4-5 hours by this post, I'm posting my thoughts on the files I've played through in my flightgroup. Like Telp's post on his feedback to his group, I'll 'anonymise' the files by noting down how many jumps + shock arrows it has on the most difficult chart, in case I accidentally influence some people (who still hasn't voted at this point, for some reason). Hey, might as well go on a wild goose chase seeing what file was I talking about, though some of what I'm about to say would be a bit obvious to know who's who.
Now keep in mind, I do take a look at Standard charts as well if it's rated above X-rated 9 and I'll not just look at the hardest chart out of the group. Also, I apologise in advance if I didn't say much about particular files and the writing comes off as a bit too casual.

38 jumps + 18 shock arrows
This is okay. It flows really nicely and the patterning is pretty clean. I feel like it could’ve followed more to the instrumental more and not rely too much on karaoke stepping, but for a 10, it’s pretty good. And frankly, one of your better files I’ve played within the 4 years I’ve participated in this contest.
53 jumps + 2 shock arrows
This is good. The double-steps used in this one were smart and act as an impromptu footswitch. The steps go along to the song nice and sections of it are dedicated to specific parts of the song such as vocals or the beat.
77 jumps
Nice and simple. Doesn’t need to go all out with gimmicks and crazy patterns. Would’ve started it at b16 instead of b9, but it’s whatever.
132 jumps
I like both the Standard and Heavy charts. The Standard chart is really fun, and patterning and jumps make sense.
74 jumps + 1 shock arrow
Bold choice to use hands in the Heavy chart. Pretty well-executed in the jump usage throughout the song. Heavy’s more of a 14 than a 13. Though, it kind of ends awkwardly after the notes finish and there’s a brief empty gap before the chart ends. The Standard chart, I really like it. The jump holds are well executed and flows nicely.
51 jumps
This is so fun and the jumps are fitting. I would’ve liked to see hold notes incorporated into the chart more (especially around m12-20 so it makes sense that it follows the vocals), but honestly, I really liked it.
76 jumps
This is pretty good. I loved the holds during the stop sections in Standard. Especially when it’s paired with the jacks. A bit too high speed for me, especially when attempting to play on Challenge, but then again, that’s the nature of the song. The patterns and rhythm in Challenge were fine.
60 jumps
There was a double-step in Heavy occurred at m18 that abrupts the flow for a bit. The rhythms make some sense, but there are some noticeable ones that just disrupts the flow (like with the jump at b84 with the L+R jump that leads to a U-D-R pattern). The Standard chart, however, is riddled with double-steps. Some of them are pretty easy to fix.
50 jumps
I absolutely love this. It’s simple and fun. The patterning throughout the chart is clean and flows really well. Nothing wrong with this one.
92 jumps
Rating your Challenge chart a 20 is basically the equivalent of T-posing to assert your dominance. Joking aside, that chart (I feel) is… appropriate for a 20, to say the least. I can’t really much about that chart because frankly, I’m not an expert on that. The rest of the charts were pretty good. The patterning feels consistent to the music and there is enough variation to have each section its own feel. Stops are a nice touch.
103 jumps
A bit of a stretch for it to fit the theme based on the title itself, the lyrics even more so. The chart is fun, though a bit too reliant on jumps. The pattern variations for the jump are cool; though it’s a bit weird you left a gap between b168 and b170 in the chart. Maybe add another jump so it fits with the two corresponding jumps between them?
100 jumps + 1 shock arrow
I love the patterning in Heavy. There’s like a lot of quirkiness in them that looks clumsy from a blind eye, but once you got the gist of it, they hit just right. Actually, all 3 of the charts are pretty rad. There are some parts in Standard, I feel, are a bit shaky (like the section at m15-m17).
47 jumps + 7 shock arrows
Both the Heavy and Challenge charts are good. The rhythm choices in both of them make sense and are pretty fun. The rolls are a nice touch in Challenge.
48 jumps + 6 shock arrows
I like how the crossovers were used in the chart, especially when paired with jumps. There are some odd patterning choices in some sections (like the section b112-b119), but I think it’s quirky and adds a bit of character to it. Half-BPM section is also a nice touch.
52 jumps
The steps are pretty enjoyable in both Heavy and Challenge charts. The patterning fits for the song and the jumps make sense.
61 jumps
Wow. I’m amazed that I liked this. Even though it’s not perfect (like a few doublesteps here and there, and maybe a little too reliant on spins), I do think those quirks add a bit of character to the chart and song.
85 jumps
The jumps used in here are pretty smart for the most part. I like how hold notes were used. Really, the only things I really didn’t like are the stream-heavy sections and the 16th note bursts during the holds section (m36-39), at least how it’s laid out and especially at that speed. The rating for the chart is appropriate. I’ll say that.
32 jumps + 19 shock arrows
The beginning portion of the chart, I dig it. Follows the simple melody of the instrumental. I feel like the patterning got a bit stale as the song progresses (like near the chorus section), there was a double-step at b185 which it seems like you hit it with your left instead of your right foot, making it awkward to hit that jump (b186). Some jumps kind of disrupt the flow a bit (like at b146), but the jumps were used appropriately for the most part. The chart ends before the song is finished completely.
66 jumps
It seems like the charts end when the song sounds like it's still going. I really dislike the 12th note stream section (m32 – m36) in Challenge, mainly because you added jumps in-between them and I feel you just added them in for extra difficulty. Frankly, all of the charts feel repetitive because there isn’t enough variety in pattern and rhythm throughout them.
31 jumps + 73 shock arrows
Felt more like a 13 than a 14, to be honest, but that’s probably just me. The patterning in this is pretty good. I also like how the shock arrows were used and act as indicators for footswitching. A bit sneaky disguising the two notes at the end with mines, with a warp on top of that (considering the simfile indicates as Split BPM, not warps).

I'm back! This upcoming week is even, so you know what that means.
Your flight from two weeks ago has landed. Now, it's time to mess with a different kind of requirement. If you're aware of what the title refers to, you'll already know...
Here are some clarifications for some of the requirements:
- Doubling/halving is allowed for speed changes
- If SM5 scroll speed changes are used solely for stops, they will be counted towards the stop requirement ONLY (as they act identically to stops). However, using scroll speed changes will count towards both the SM5 gimmick requirement and the speed change requirement.
- Using a combination of SM5 scroll gimmicks and BPM halving/doubling to reach the original BPM will not count towards the SM5 gimmick requirement.
- The minimum and maximum BPM must occur after the first step and before the last step. If mines are present during this BPM but not notes, that is also acceptable.
Just like last time, if you have any questions as to whether something counts towards the rules or not, just send me a PM or contact me on Discord. Have fun, and stay tuned for Week 4 results!

Ooh, that's a nice theme!

Click to go to the simfile page. ITG-sized and alternate (with BST) graphics in the comments.
Originally entered by VanEden in the final round. My first choice was Boxel Adventure, but I was very quickly intimidated by the song so this is the next best thing. The song switches from 4/4 to 3/4 partway through and I really like how they went through it. I thought for a bit about removing the 202.5 BPM speed change but I decided against it and just put a speed mod to ease the player in, sort of.
There's a section where it goes 1234-1234-1234-x but with mines in two of those. I intended for the mine to be played as in you're stepping the centre panel, but it can be crossed over or double-stepped all the same. I hope it doesn't come back to bite me haha

Excited about what others do. I was thoroughly impressed with how others used brackets for ZIv Airlines, especially for easier charts, so I expect more clever surprises this week with... everything, really.

Does BPM drift count as speed changes?
