Anony, stop shitposting.
posting DDR A footage of a song in DDR A in a thread about DDR A is now shitposting...You're making Endymion feel like it's 15 years old already.

Alright, well, attempting to bring this back to a somewhat relevant topic...
Why is it a common thing now for DDR games to have songs that are perfect for the "ending" but then add a couple of anti-climactic songs? Couldn't they have added all these new 12s/13s earlier so that ENDYMION/AfA would feel like a big climax for the game?

anyways my guess is probably that they act like preview songs for the next game, or they dont want people to complain about the lack of songs even tho songs like ENDY were meant to end the game

It's possible that DDR A isn't quite done and they're trying to drag the mix out as long as possible before they introduce whatever the next mix is. It's also possible that these will just be preview songs for the next mix. It's nice that we're still getting new content though, unlike with RDI where we got nothing new until over the period was cleared. Why is it a common thing now for DDR games to have songs that are perfect for the "ending" but then add a couple of anti-climactic songs? I'm starting to get nervous again about what Konami might do to DDR in the US... I may be overreacting once again, but the worst part is that it would be perfectly in character for them.
They've already done it: do absolutely fucking nothing. We have received absolutely no licenses since DDR A has been in the US. None. It was convenient that only the 6 Exit Tunes songs weren't brought over so the blame could have been them, but it seems to not be the case if these IOSYS songs aren't licensed either. It's like they licensed everything in one go for the US and anything after that is just not worth the time.
We won't be seeing the Osomatsu-san song next week either.

Can we chalk this up to licensing issues or are we going to have the "Konami hates America" talk again?

if Konami really hates america, why did they even make a effort to bring DDR A over here? Again, it could be the record label preventing them from bringing the songs over here.

I didn't mention anything about them hating the US. I just said they haven't bothered licensing anything past the 8 western songs, which was when DDR A came to the US.
It's why we have 色は匂へど散りぬるを even though it was added after the initial DDR A launch, but we don't get the current Touhou additions. It got licensed with everything else that needed licensing at the time.

Y'all gotta stop acting like Konami's leaving you in the dust again because you didn't get two songs. Come on, it's not a big deal.
This is where I'm at with it. It's 2 songs, not worth having a meltdown over it.Post #5271 · Posted at 2017-09-29 01:28:22am 7.7 years ago
sure it's sounds lazy konami doesn't want to add these songs rn, but eventually they may add them at a later date (see: NEW Generation songs, and iirc some of the removed song in the DDR 2014 US loctest were restored, though i'm probably wrong)
also the brits haven't even got a final release of DDR A what about them lol

Not gonna lie, these double charts look extremely fun to play. Darn, now I wish I could play these songs.

hoping the chart for that october 3 song, and that tokimeki one isn't trash

Licensing has always been an issue when porting games to overseas; that's why Japan got arcade-accurate console ports while the North American PS/PS2 editions consisted of a smattering of new licenses, KONAMI originals, and the occasional Dancemania song here and there. Quite frankly I'm surprised we managed to end up with the tracks that we did.
Although, I'm still not quite over the fact that we never got those X3 remixes. I don't care how much it would cost, I'd much rather play BRILLIANT 2U (AKBK MIX) than another Touhou song.

i think the x3 remixes don't cost much, it's more a regional copyright thing

I was gonna say with all the hate for not getting a few japanese licenses whereas over here we dont even have any news on an actual release despite what I assumed was a good location test. You guys got the game with the cabinets and you're getting more in granted in select locations but you've got more than the rest of the world right now.
Chances are Konami have decided theres no point in putting the licenses outside of japan because it's not in their interest financially. I could be wrong but i believe Konami still do the leasing model in japan so they get paid for credits plus theres paseli and things like that so adding more licenses in over a length of time keeps people coming back and playing more than if they just released them all in bulk, whereas over in america im fairly sure its just a case of "ok here's the machine, good luck with it, give us our cash" I could be wrong but i'd assume that to be the case. Meaning adding new licenses just isnt going to benefit them in the immediate, maybe when they roll out an update but even then unless they are charging outside of japan for it, what's their motivation to do so? Except maybe to keep interest high in selling more cabinets.
Short version: there's probably reasons why the licenses dont get outside of japan, its probably money. I wouldn't be surprised if they dont even release the next mix outside of japan and just push an offline patch to you all when its done but i'd hope that to not be the case!

OMG YES!!
You have no idea how bad the situation is here. All the arcades are either really outdated, poorly managed machines or In The Groove consoles. I've always thought i was because we don't really have a large enough fanbase here like in the US
Anyways as an Aussie fan, i'm so stoked. Here's hoping it doesn't fade into obscurity like the European location test
