This song was originally stepped by hooky for the Male Vocalists round of the 2013 Summer Contest. In all honesty, I have never seen or played hooky's original charts for this song. I just chose this song because of all the songs that were eligible for this theme, I saw the most potential in this one.

If you have seen my released simfiles (*cough cough*shameless plug*cough cough*) you probably already saw I stepped an AQUA song from their album Megalomania. It's actually one of my favorite albums and I have wanted to step more songs from it but felt it might be a bit much to keep stepping them all.

At least until I'm given an opportunity to do so. If No Party Patrol was anywhere in these contests I would have not even hesitated with that one, but I was a little iffy with this one for how simple it is in comparison to others.

I will probably add in two more charts to this that incorporate more spinning in different ways for obvious reasons, as well as possible doubles because I love charting doubles for songs like these.

Oh yeah, one more question: Are songs that got disqualified for some reason such as being 3 minutes late or being longer than 2:30 (Crescent Moon in ZIv Academy III) allowed?

It's true that it's statistically improbable someone will chose such a song with this fate out of what must be thousands, but hey...

I was waiting until that user posted on here to mention it!

I have a very strong personal connection with this song, going all the way back to when I was first getting into Bemani. I’ve played JunkoXXX’s simfile from Summer Contest 2015 many times over the years, but the thing that always bugged me was that it was a cut of the long version that ends rather abruptly. (And also the steps weren’t that great… >_> ) I’d been thinking about restepping the file myself with the game size audio, but I never really had a reason to…until now! So, now one of my life’s goals has been achieved, and I can rest easily at night knowing that this great song has a quality stepchart to go with it.

Oh, and I made a chart for this but it turned out to be garbage so I scrapped it and incorporated some of its ideas into the lower difficulties. Maybe in a few more years I’ll come back and revisit it.

All right, even though I just got a Nintendo Switch, I want to make this Summer Contest count while the going is good. And so!

I had a real hard time finding a song I already knew I liked that wasn't on the ban list. Then I found this gem, stepped by vincentw in the 2015 contest. Can't believe it hasn't been attempted by anyone since. And considering its placement that week...well, let's just say I hope to give it at least a little redemption.

Originally submitted by TaroNuke as part of "You Won't See This in DDR" in 2011.

I felt this underrated song needed a more "serious" simfile as it is a "serious" BEMANI song; this file I made stays somewhat true to the song's original Pop'n Music charts though I wanted to give its charts a similar feel and similar difficulties to those of MAX 300 as the song reminds me of it a little.

I guess you can say this is more of a file that you WOULD see in DDR.

For the first time in years, I'm jumping ship from voting. I know this will end up costing me points (there's 11 files, I'm pretty sure it's not getting last place), but honestly with how late I entered I don't think I'll be able to make it to the VIP room at all anyway. Best of luck to K-Step for however well Kick Drums & Red Wine will perform!

This is pretty much an experimental file, since I've been out of the simfiling game for a solid two months. There will be people that don't like this and I know it, hopefully my next file will remedy any problems they face here. And remember, if you're not fast enough to keep up with the notes (pad or not), the music rate feature is helpful.

This song was submitted in [Mid Speed] for Summer Contest 2016 by stepper prodigy Benpai. It only got 5 points and I suspect it was a victim of there being too many files to vote for (Mid Speed had 46 files!!). However I gave the chart in his file another look and realized there were seemingly "ghost" rhythms in there that I wasn't keen on, so I think choosing this song isn't a bad choice at all. I was tempted to choose illuminate like Gameoson did but I felt it was more appropriate to choose a lower-scoring file since this can basically boil down to Song Redemption week if it did consistently poorly (...Macuilxochitl).

Oh, and I'm throwing my background videos into the game again. I think they're much better than my previous four sets (Otasa Revolution, TAKE A LOOK AROUND, Streamers, nightowl).

Experimenting with lifts on . I don't recommend using the default SM5 noteskin for this as it uses the same colour for lifts as 64ths, both of which are present in this file. I can highly recommend the noteskin that comes with SM5.1 (Lambda). From the list of default noteskins on SM5.1, the midi noteskins support lifts reasonably well, and most others fall back on the default noteskin's lift indicator, which at least make the lifts stand out, I guess.

First stepped by mu-box for last year's [Tech Savvy] theme. The song cut is a bit different in that the second half is replaced with more vocal sections and wubs... I think. It's one of my favourite songs from last year's contest, so this is a good opportunity to step it. Enjoy!
