Edit: If the english version of KAKUMEI (X-Special) is there... shouldn't an english version of the the new TRIP MACHINE PhoneiX be there as well?...

They managed to leave the new English version out. It's the SN2 banner in there. Roll Eyes

I think NADESHIKO should be called Blooming Flower and poririzimu renamed to Polyrhythm.

I would have titled it "Nadeshiko Rock" with Rin To Shite Saku Hana No Gotoku as the subtitle on the banner wheel. I guess someone misinterpreted the concept of Pop'n using the genre names on the song wheel by default?

But, why, did you retitle the song, when there was a freaking official romanization in the freaking banner AND video?!

I thought things couldn't get worse than what they did to Polyrhythm, but nooooo~.

Personally, I find the romanization to be rather unwieldy and cumbersome for English readers; this clearly isn't KONAMI's concern though since they decided to fully romanize Konoko no nanatsu no oiwaini. Although honestly, I've always called Rin To Shite Saku Hana No Gotoku as Nadeshiko Rock, and probably always will, so at least it's in a form that makes sense when I refer to it as Nadeshiko Rock around others. Tongue

If it was up to me, I'd translate. When foreign artists launch English careers, they tend to translate, not romanize. It's more memorable and meaningful if you read a phrase and understand it. However, this screws up the alphabetic sorting.

Actually, my preference is no translation at all; it's how I keep StepMania, but this obviously isn't an option for KONAMI.

Various DDR X stuff and fixed banners for FAINT and ME AGAINST THE MUSIC. No English banners for some of the X songs for some weird reason.

Remember from SuperNOVA onwards, they scraped the idea of subtitles.

Oh okay, and by the way, I know it was asked earlier but never answered, what was changed in X for the banners of "Me Against the Music" and "Faint"?

We had buggy rips of it before. As SN2 banner files from AC couldn't be decoded properly on the PC.

Does Fly Away -mix del matador- have a fixed banner in X? The old one says shawn the Horny Master, but the song card says Shawn the Horny Master.

Yes, 4th had the original artwork and 4th Plus on had the new artwork. I always liked the original font style better though. I remember hearing that the artist of the song (through Toshiba EMI) decided to change the title and Konami (for some reason) decide to honor that change. Something to do with the song being based off an existing song and the original title was misleading somehow. It still makes little sense given how many mis-titled songs from Dancemania are in the series, most of them Konami's fault.

from "Dancemania" or DDR OST albums title formats
"MY FIRE [UKS Remix]" (1st)
"BOOM BOOM DOLLAR [Red Monster Mix]" (2nd)
"NINZABURO (FURUHATA'S THEME)" (4th)
"17SAI [Upper Version]" (5th)
"BE TOGETHER [Upper Version]" (5th)
"CAN'T STOP FALLIN' IN LOVE [VENTURA HYPER MIX]" (5th)
"ODORU PONPOKOLIN [Captains eurasia huper mix]" (5th)
"AFRONOVA [B4 ZA BEAT REMIX]" (7th)
"DROP OUT [K.O.G REMIX]" (7th)
"LITTLE BOY [BOY OH BOY MIX]" (7th)
"MATSURI JAPAN [K.O.G REMIX]" (7th)
"SEXY PLANET [MOMO REMIX]" (7th)
"SUPER STAR [DJ NAKAIDO & E. ISOMURA REMIX]" (7th)
"WILD RUSH [PCM REMIX]" (7th)

IF you notice those DISC IMAGES from DDR X (ARCADE/PS2) use the part of their BACKGROUND
i think use them as reference for CUSTOM BG creation for the songs like..
"Horatio"
"on the bounce"
"On The Break"
"Pluto"
"Pluto Relinquish"
"SABER WING"
"SABER WING [AKIRA ISHIHARA Headshot mix]"
"Trigger"
even "AFRONOVA (X-SPECIAL)"

lastly "al2k4"
can you also rip those official GENRE BANNERS? ty
DDR THE ULTIMATE VERSION (System Only Songs & official with some modification/variation)
DDR Missing Arcade/Home Version Songs & Official Steps
DDR Official Step Variations (No Duplication. All step variations in one song simfile)

The name change (FNSMM as subtitle) for these six songs were somewhat understandable due to the fact that these remixes originally appeared on the nonstop megamixes to the 3rdMIX (AFRONOVA), 5thMIX (MATSURI JAPAN), and SOLO soundtracks.

BTW, for the record, LITTLE BOY (BOY ON BOY MIX) appeared, with the miswritten subtitle, on the "Captain's Best" Dancemania album.

Great post!

Have You Never Been Mellow (1st Mix) is actually the "KCP Remix"
Uh La La La (DS1.5) is the "Almighty Definitive Radio Edit"

I'm trying to recreate them...But it's not easy.//

Um, shouldn't they have been RIPPED with all these too?

After going through the HDD data myself, those banners appear to be located somewhere else and not in the standard banner files that Al's tool could rip.

Ashura, if they could've been ripped that easily, it would've been done AGES ago.

They are probably stored in another file as another image format, which is not exactly easy to figure out as it seems like some custom graphic format.
