Which BEMANI series will be on the chopping block next? My money's going towards Pop'n.

pop'n music is on the same level as DDR that they're too old to be discontinued. I want to say all current games are safe right now. Games such as MUSECA, BeatStream were cut already and REFLEC BEAT will continue until every KO song it cut for that damn Reflesia are reinstated. DR had a tremendous first month but it went down by the second. That was months ago, curious to see if participation went up during the Spark Festivals because it got some real bangers.

Nostalgia would be my bet. I feel like it's going to hit a point where they really can't do much else with the game without giving it a total overhaul.

I'd say Sound Voltex, Beatmania, and then Pop'n and DDR are safe. Jubeat is doing fine. No one talks about GITADORA but I don't see it getting the ax. Dancerush seems like a good next target because of how Dance Evolution did, and any of the non-solidified franchises could go after that.

I'm really concerned about pop'n getting killed. Don't know what else they could do with it, to be honest.

A lot are saying Dancerush but I think it's too new and Konami will keep trying to make it work for a few years before ditching it. I could see something else getting killed off within that time frame.

Nostalgia. No one plays it anymore and they barley release updates for it.

Anything Des-ROW touches dies (Nothing against Des-ROW though; just a coincidence-- see: beatmania 5-key, REFLEC BEAT).
So pop'n for sure especially since no new game has been announced yet.

DDR A is older than pop'n steampunk so by that measure DDR will be killed before...

Do you realize Op.2 is coming soon, right?Given how little care Konami has shown about it lately, my guess is pop'n. DDR is at least receiving frequent updates as of late, so I think it will be safe for some time. Nostalgia will be supported until early 2020 at least.

I have no clue why everybody's pegging pop'n all of a sudden. Wasn't everybody super hype just a week ago about the whole "end-game pack that has 2 level 50 ultimate tier bosses" thing? That seems to indicate they care enough to give a proper conclusion to a mix, as opposed to DDR's seeming conclusion but now I guess we're just lumping 2 mixes' worth of boss content in the same game to save on upgrade kit manufacturing costs or something. (or not secure new licensed songs, either way, we gon' $ave dat money)

I've been saying this since eclale at least. Each release since Sunny Park has had its problems, but since eclale you can clearly see how many things are being rushed (no proper ending, had a small number of non-contest songs, more non-keysounded songs). Usaneko has had no new characters in about a year, hasn't had its website properly updated with new songs (heck, even one of the sections is still "under construction" since launch), the updates themselves were infrequent, and while they bothered to give the game a conclusion of its unlock event, No NAME Colors has no ending "video" as previous ending songs (and the other two songs have recycled characters of course).
That's not to say that everything that has been done in pop'n has been bad, but those details (and others that I've not detailed) really give the impression that Konami don't care about pop'n as much as they did years ago.

I'm surprised that Nostalgia was still a thing, tbh. That gets my vote.

DDR gets my vote. Although the Follow and RT Campaign just happened, I think they are giving up at this point. America rarely gets new songs, because Konami keeps adding Vocaloid and anime songs, and those songs couldn't be licensed in America. It's sad to see DDR dying, but it gets my vote.

yes, ddr got like over a dozen songs in the span of a month but it's dying because a market that wasn't all that profitable to begin with still isn't really that profitable
