BUMP: No new song update yet, but something I've been thinking about.
To be honest, I hate using the X-rating scale since it seems like even Konami has issues ratings things with it, so I can never get a grasp on what to rate charts. I hate to go back to the old scale since it's too basic and doesn't really tell you the difference between a easier 8 or 9 or a harder 8 or 9. If I could do .5 intervals, that would be perfect, but Stepmania won't allow it. So... I've came up with a solution. Make a custom difficulty chart.
It would be easy to convert. Just take the classic scale and times it by two. Here's a chart explaining the new scale more. It would be rated 1-30
CLASSIC → PANDY RATINGS
0.5→1
1→2
1.5→3
2→4
2.5→5
3→6
3.5→7
4→8
4.5→9
5→10
5.5→11
6→12
6.5→13
7→14
7.5→15
8→16
8.5→17
9→18
9.5→19
10→20
10.5→21
11→22
11.5→23
12→24
12.5→25
13→26
13.5→27
14→28
---- (If needed)
14.5→29
15→30
0.5→1
1→2
1.5→3
2→4
2.5→5
3→6
3.5→7
4→8
4.5→9
5→10
5.5→11
6→12
6.5→13
7→14
7.5→15
8→16
8.5→17
9→18
9.5→19
10→20
10.5→21
11→22
11.5→23
12→24
12.5→25
13→26
13.5→27
14→28
---- (If needed)
14.5→29
15→30
Not final on this but this would be the most accurate rating system I can think of and it would be better than X scale imo. I can convert everything into this new scale depending on the feedback to this. Again, just an idea I'm throwing out and seeing what sticks. We can call it a Spring update or something.
BUMP: An easier system I just thought of could be add .5 intervals to the classic scale, then times it by ten. It would be something like
7 (easy 7)→70
7.5 (hard 7→75
8(Easy 8)→80
8.5(Hard 8)→85
ect.
I'm leaning more to this so you don't have to convert too much to know what you're getting yourself into.

Is this rating being used from here on out (like for when you make new stuff? like new packs?)

All the songs in this pack if I do convert will also be converted to the new rating system (meaning reuploading .ssc files for 30 song). If it works well enough without any major backlash, I might use this rating system from here on. Also since ZIv only allows me to go up to 20, it will be classic scale rounding down. So something like 85 (or 8.5) would be 8.Here's an example of what I'm looking at doing. The line is a .5 interval. It reads 20/35/55/80/90 But it's really 2/3.5/5.5/8/9 on a classic scale.

Somewhat. I think CROSSxBEATS tops out at 100. Mine will go past that. What I would give an 11 in the older mixes would be an 110 or 115 in the new system.Bump: Here's what the new difficulties would be with the current songs that are out.

Probably if you were to stick to X-ratings to remain up to date with the only active 4-panel dance game, it might be something like
Classic-> X
1 -> 1-2
2 -> 3-4
3 -> 5
4 -> 6
5 -> 7
6 -> 8
Easy 7 -> 9
Hard 7 -> 10
Easy 8 -> 11
Hard 8/Easy 9 -> 12
Average 9 -> 13
Hard 9 -> 14
10 -> 15
Flashing 10/11 -> 16
12/Easy 13 -> 17
Hard 13/Easy 14 -> 18
Hard 14/Easy 15 -> 19
Hard 15 -> 20
I might be wrong on X-16 onwards since I haven’t played enough ITG-style charts but this should probably help you have an idea on how X-ratings generally go.
Reuploading 30 ssc’s sounds tedious though
Classic-> X
1 -> 1-2
2 -> 3-4

Reuploading 30 ssc's won't be too bad. I might shut the category down for a short time while I do it. I really like the classic system more but when you have a easy 9 vs a hard 9, then there's a problem. I think the system I'm proposing fixes that.Classic-> X

The system would be great if you could get away with putting decimal difficulties in-game. It's probably just me, but I don't particularly like the idea of a thing rated 50 and knowing that the values 51-54 don't exist. Like, the scale's being extended, but not all of the extension's being used?
This is me being laser-accurate with my nitpicking, though.

I get ya. I could make it to where you have 51-54. If I'm going to change it to this system, why not go all the way with it?This is me being laser-accurate with my nitpicking, though.
Here's what I'm thinking now. Not all the songs re-rated but enough to get the idea across.
After some thinking, I think I'm going to do the system I had before of 30,35,40,45, ect. I feel like doing things like 51-54 is just over complicating things and then we get the problem of "should this be a 54? This is a 54 but it's harder, or is it?". Overall doing it by 5s is just a way better and easier system to understand. It pretty much fixes my issue without overthinking it.

The category will be closed today to convert everything into the new rating system. I should be back up later today. I want to get this converted so I can get back to uploading files.
Also the ratings posted before will not be the final ratings, there are a few changes. Reminder that since ZIv, doesn't go past 20, songs will be rated by classic scale rounding down (meaning an 85 would be an 8 and so on).
Category is back up with everything converted. I've also updated the category download if you want to download all the files with their new ratings. Should have a new file up sometime tomorrow.

How is everyone feeling about the new rating system? If need be I might just go back to the classic scale I've been using. I'm learning that people who don't follow the thread that are getting my simfiles will be confused with the ratings. Also doing an DDR classic (more ITG scale) I feel like no one really had a problem with besides myself. Best to do a system everyone can agree with.

I like the new rating system. it's more accurate than old and still feels like old scale which I like more than the feel of modern x scale.

The deal is I hate for new players to download the songs and be confused with the ratings. Re-rating the songs AGAIN won't take as long as it looks but it will take a bit. I just want something EVERYONE can be accustomed to.On another note, you're pal Pandy is part of another pack.
Check out DanceDanceRevolution XX - Update 4, as I did the stepcharts for サヨナラ・ヘヴン. Check it out this classic BEMANI track along with other songs in the project. All good stuff.

HUGE UPDATE!
First of all new song.
NEWS!
I will no longer be doing requests for this project. I might bring them back but it's super unlikely. I will still finish out the requests that are left. Instead I'm proud to announce its replacement...
It's been a long time since my old BEMANI Simfile days so I thought I would redo some classics. Revivals will start with the next update.
----------
Speaking of the next update. I think I'm going to change up how I going to do updates. I'm going to be doing it in 4 song intervals. There will be a pack download that contains the4 3 new songs so you don't have to download one at a time if you wish not to. Packs will likely be...
At least one Bemani song rather it be revival or new
At least one original/license/other
Some packs might have themes as well. Of course, this also means longer wait time between updates, but I think it will be worth it in the end.
----------
Lastly, some rating changes.
Dirty Car 20 → 15
Dirty Car 65 → 70
Look at this as phase 2 or something like that with the project. I think that's about it. Time to change things up a bit!
Bump: Going to do 3 songs per update instead of 4. I think that would be easier and I'm not forcing to get songs in.
------------
PACK 1 is out. It contains...
[RAVE]
Cyber Girl / good-cool
BPM: 133
10/25/45/70/90 [Mines]
[TRANCE]
Orbital Revolution
BPM: 138
10/20/50/70/85 [Mines, Hands]
[MICHINOKU]
津軽雪
BPM: 160
20/45/60/90/115 [Mines, Rolls]
You can download the pack by clicking here
or go to the category to download them single file.
Trying something new here so there might be some growing pains.
-------------------
BUMP:
I'll be honest, I might get to 50 songs on this project and then call it done. I tried some experimental things and I feel like some if not most of them did not pan out like I wanted it to or ended up being complicated messes. I tried experimenting with this project and I think I ended up trying to fix something that wasn't broken. I'll still get the requests done but I'll likely leave the rest of the revivals I had planned for the next project.
I also I think 50 songs in a pack is a good number to stop on. There's plenty to enjoy with that and that's not easy when it's mostly one person (me) doing all the files. Also a 50 song pack takes me around 7-10 months to make.
I think I had the right idea with PandemiXium 4 with doing 50-60 song packs with themes. The problem I had with 4 was I made a commitment to do 4 smaller projects as one giant one rather than just doing smaller projects on their own, there for by about half way into AvataR, I was hitting hardcore burnout.
There's only going to be 9 more files left, and since there's such a small number, I don't see the point in doing it in packs now. I would not call this project a total failure but as more of a learning experience. Not sure if I'll bring back PandemiXium or not but the next pack will likely be something like what one of the phases of PandemiXium 4 was. 50-60 songs with a theme behind it.
TLR:
-I'm ending 2k19 with 50 songs.
-Requests are still going to be stepped
-Songs will be single file again from now on
-Next project will be like a PandemiXium 4 phase that will also be 50 or so songs
-Not sure if next project will be a return to PandemiXium or not.
Thank you all for going through what I feel like was a struggle to deal with for the simfile downloader. Sometimes you swing and miss. Let's get back to what works. Again, thank you.
------------------------
Also I'll be releasing a version of 2k19 with classic ratings once the pack is complete.
Next project after this is codenamed "X FOR X". The future is bright.
amorite did graphics (Banner and Background) and the challenge chart. Check out Pulsemix 3rd Style when you get a chance.
Updates have been kind of slow. I got one more song to do and the pack is golden. Been busy with Summer Contest along with other projects.
First of all new song.

amorite did graphics (Banner and Background) and the challenge chart. Check out Pulsemix 3rd Style when you get a chance.
Updates have been kind of slow. I got one more song to do and the pack is golden. Been busy with Summer Contest along with other projects.

Requests are closed. I only have 3 more songs left and then I'm moving on to the next project and I don't know if I'll do requests in that pack or not. Really appreciate all the work you have done.
