Sorry about dropping out of the contest all of a sudden again, but I've got a new job again and I can go back to the working life (lol). It was nice being able to play and make simfiles again after a pretty long time, and I'll still be following along with the VIP room files when they're going up.

-Song title contains at least two of the three letters Q, X, and Z.
Was going to use this as a boss song in my next pack but since my original plan went up in smoke, I thought that this would be a good plan B.

I have a question.
Not skirting the rules (at least deliberately), but let's say instead of using stops I use scroll changes of 0. Would that work for 5 seconds of stops? There's no other notes in between them and the only speed changes during those segments are purely visual for the start and end of the chart. It's... kind of like this. It's basically like stops, just systematically different in execution.
Granted, it's a chart on top of a chart I'm making with lifts so it isn't like the end of my idea if that's not allowed. It's mostly just a safeguard in case I somehow can't make what I want to make in the end. The chart is going to be part of the simfile anyway...

If this was my [Stops] theme from last year I would have allowed it no problem. As you said, it's fundamentally the same. The decision's not up to me of course but I figured I'd throw my two cents in.

I...I guess I don't really see why not? If that's the best way you can implement that sort of thing...you'd have to make sure it's actually 5 seconds' worth, but if you're attempting that in the first place, I would guess it would be used somewhat heavily, sooooo.......
Yeah, long as you can prove there are 5+ seconds of the arrows not moving, then, uhh...go for it? I'd trust you enough that I wouldn't have to review it before the deadline, but still do your best not to let it get to that point.

OKAY COOL
This song has been an earworm to me for weeks. I had some basic charts made for it before this entry but instead of saving this for the free round as I planned I decided to have a bit of fun. It's a simple song.
The three charts on the base difficulty levels are pretty standard charts.
The first edit chart (titled Stop Chu) was a gimmick I decided to go with simply because I've been playing too much Pump. Total stop time is well beyond 5 seconds. I figured this kind of gimmick would work with the song.
The second edit (titled Lifting Chu) has an astounding 48 lifts. I have no idea how to rate this as lifts are not used often enough for me to really gauge how people will play it, but I did my best to keep in mind foot placements for when you lift your foot. Hopefully some of the trickier stuff makes sense?
I think this is probably the silliest thing I've done. The only thing missing in this is the Pump chart I actually made for it as well lmao

Not sure if this has been answered yet, but is the subtitle included in the QXZ requirement? In other words, if I had a song that had two of those three letters in the subtitle but not in the title, would it still satisfy that requirement?
For example: Save the World (Zedd Remix)

Ahhhhhh, you know what. I think I'm going to go with no on the subtitle, mainly because I can't believe I didn't even think about the word "Remix" forming a pretty convenient loophole for that requirement. Nah, I'd prefer you work for that one. Pandy did it, you can too!

I have a question about the time signature requirement - does it have to run for the whole song? Like if a song switches between 7/4 and 4/4 midway through, does it still count? What's the threshold?
Yeah dawg, you're killing it for a first run. As for your question: I'd say whole song. At the very least, there can't be any sections of 4/4 or 3/4 in it.
Well this completely ruined my original plan. And the song I was going to step was only in 3/4 time for six lousy beats and 5/4 the rest of the time. The good news is that I came up with an alternative that didn't involve a 1,000 note chart.
This is probably one of the weirder songs I've stepped.
Mulch / Sampling Masters MEGA
3/4 5/7 6/9 8/12 9/14 EDIT 9/14
has 174 freezes, and originally that's where I stopped. But then I randomly decided "You know what? I hate lifts. That's why I'm going to try and make a chart that has lifts in them." EDIT is primarily the same as , except for the additional 45 lift notes. Oh, and it manages to have slightly more freezes too.

Another question - what counts as hardest chart? If I have a as a modified version of my with lifts, does that count?

Whatever the highest level rating is. Where it is placed in the simfile doesn't really matter if it is the actual hardest chart. Put it on if you really want as long as it is clear.

This would've been a great song to submit for "You Won't See This In DDR", but since it's probably not gonna make another appearance anytime soon, I may as well release this file now. Luckily for me, it also happens to fulfill the "at least 5 seconds of stops" requirement.

Welcome to the VIP set. Will there be any logic to these song picks? Might could not be!
From the album Sound's Palette For The Valentine.
Speaking of fast trackz
Let's call this a make-up assignment for missing CAPS LOCK week. Also, I have a sneaking suspicion that nobody else is going to pick the high BPM requirement from this list, so I'll take up the sword myself! AND fall on it!! (Oh, and also lifts. Think of them like skateboard kickflips~)

Just wanna preface this by saying how honored I am to have so many of you enjoy my files. 59 points was way beyond any expectation I had for myself considering last year I ended with a rather humble 1 point. So thank you guys very much.
With that being said...
Uh oh... did somebody say 1000 notes???
I understand this may be considered the most barbaric out of all the challenges, but I think the best thing to celebrate 10 long weeks of fierce competition would be a nice cathartic stream of arrows. Hope you have fun, and good luck to the remaining participants!
