Zenius-I-vanisher Tournament Special
Round 1 Winner
Round 2 Winner
Round 3
FREE ROUND!
Requirements
N/A
Rules of the contest
Yes, this is yet another simfile contest (as if we needed another one).
Anyway, last year I held a contest titled "Zenius-I-vanisher Stepmania Tournament 2011". This tournament had a series of "special" simfiles at the end of it which were edited and moded stepcharts of officially released songs from Dance Dance Revolution. These edited stepcharts were awful and I think the contestants of the next tournament deserve better so I am leaving it up to you. I am giving the members of ZIv a chance to have their stepcharts featured in the next tournament as the special files to play at the end.
Rules
1. The stepcharts MUST follow the pattern of special songs in official Dance Dance Revolution releases (Freeze Special, Chaos Special, etc). YOU DO NOT HAVE TO STICK TO ONE "SPECIAL" TYPE. YOU MAY MIX IT UP.
2. All edited stepcharts MUST have a subtitle of your user name and the word "special" after it. For example, London EVOLVED Ver. A (Android Special).
3. You MUST submit your file by the end of the edit period or it will not qualify for voting.
4. Graphics are not mandatory but are recommended. Also, If you do make graphics, album artwork is a plus!
I will select which title to take the simfile from and when the edited simfiles are posted, the contestants must vote on which edit they liked the most. You CAN NOT vote for you own song and you can only vote ONCE. The simfile you choose to edit can only be from the category I posted. You can only edit ONE simfile from that category. You will then upload your simfile here. Upload it as follows: [Round 1] London EVOLVED Ver. A (Android Special). Every other round will be a "free" round where you can select ANY song that you want to edit. This means you can edit a song from DDR, IIDX, Licenses, etc. Just follow the rules. You have six days to upload your edit and post it in the forum and one day to vote. The simfile with the most votes will be the winner for that round and will be used as a "special" file for contestants to play in the next tournament. There will only be 10 rounds, however, there is no limit as to how many people can join. Also there is no elimination either. You can submit a file for every round whether you lose or not.
Example
Round 1
Edit period begins (six days)
Post edited simfiles

Edited Simfile 4

If there continues to be very low activity in the contest such as a low amount of submissions or votes, I might close the contest. If there ends up being only one submission I will close it.

I forgot to ask a question. Will this be DDR-styled only? (meaning no hands/quads and/or single mines)

I have some questions:
1. If I am a participant, how can I post the edited chart?
2. Why do you have to limit the difficulty of the chart participants to 10-footer (15 in X scale) or above? (Unless the songs which chart we have to make is Boss Songs...)

I'm so down for this.
And yeah, I actually wouldn't mind if it was more than just DDR edits.
@TheSirius17: These charts are intended for a Stepmania tournament - they need to be difficult enough that contestants' scores are well spaced out.

2. The stepchart MUST be in high difficulty. This mean that your stepcharts foot rating must be at or exceed that of a 10 footer or 15+(X scale).
Looks like I can't participate, lol.Quote: Android

Not sure how an AIR Special would be a 15.Quote: Telperion

Looks like I can't participate, lol.This. Besides, it'd be tough to judge, the best charts aren't always the ones that use the most freeze/chaos/stream/whathaveyou.

1. Everyone who joins can upload their simfile here. I will be adding co-owners as soon as the sign up period ends. (Sorry. I didn't have the category when I posted this.)
2. I limit the difficulty because at the end of the tournament the songs must be really difficult. They will ONLY be 10 footer (15+) in the final rounds. You can pick whichever simfile you want but the end result MUST have a foot rating of 10 footer (15+).

Okay. Special simfiles for the tournament will be anything. NOT just official DDR songs, however this will ONLY be the special simfiles that can break that rule.

It doesn't necessarily have to stick to one special style. One part of the chart can feature chaos while another features freeze.

Another point I'd like to make about the chart style is that while you don't have to stick to one "special" style, it would be in your best interest to make the styles you use prominent and noticeable. This doesn't mean make a mostly freeze style chart and have a sudden stream section that begins off beat and doesn't go with the rhythm of the music. Just make it so that we know what you're getting at while still maintaining a well constructed chart.

Okay you know what? Lets go ahead and do that! Any difficulty. I will have the winning simfiles featured throughout the tournament and one of the rounds will be boss song only. How's that?
Append: The themes will be DDR releases but every other round will be any kind of chart with a "special" style. That way we can have some uniform as to what to step.

You sounded angry....I didn't mean to MAKE you do that. If you want to play by yours rules its fine. Don't need to make a deal because one person didn't like a rule.
