It has four buttons. Four buttons on a game that's typically nine (or five, eat me). This isn't pop'n music anymore. This is hand-ITG with permanent Reverse scroll. You might as well take a drum away, turn the remainder into bongos and continue to call it DrumMania. No, pop'nUS doesn't have to be identical, but it'd nice if it at least somewhat resembled the game it's supposed to be.
I actually agree with you there, but some people seem to making out to be a horrible abomination upon mankind that was designed by Satan, when we can't really make concrete judgments about it until we play it.
It would be better if they gave it a different name, but people remake movies with no resemblance to originals all the time... so I guess it's kinda universal.

When Pop'n Music meets The Bronx
I would agree but not even The Bronx is that ghetto...my part at least. This logo is like..wearing your little brothers jeans outside showing your boxers while blaring music on your speakerphone because your broke ass can't afford a real mp3 player (or pants that fit). I would give it a few tries, I'm hoping for GiriGiri Burning 24H!

Reports up.
Reports up.
Looks cute! The report sounds very positive, and while it would be nice if they added more difficulty levels, it looks great, and has a lot of charm! It's also amazing because:
1) it's redemption
2) I can own it
3) it's precisely the sort of thing D&B would get
I'd definitely hit it up if it found its way to D&B here.
Anyway, I definitely support this because, no matter what, the success of this game will only positively impact the North American BEMANI scene and it would instantly give any release of a more 'traditional' pop'n music brand appeal.

Anyway, interesting concept for a pop'n music game for the American market. Making it a ticket redemption game would certainly attract buyers.

OK, Time to put MY 2cents in...//
I can understand this, The whole "concept" looks like that it's an arcade version of the Wii Game (Hence the 4 Buttons). Ticket Redemption, I see more kids looking to play this now. I sorta like the Logo Design, I really like the Skull versions of Mimi and Nyami. I just think that this will be too easy to play...Just by looking at it, and thats weird.//

Funny that majority of the songlist are GFDM crossovers. We also get one old DDR one.

It's 4 buttons, in a line, it's already easier than the first beatmania at best.

This is exactly what I was thinking.

Now that I look at it, if I keep on playing this godforsaken machine, I'm going to eat all of the tickets in it.
I don't feel dissatisfied anymore. Konami, I am sorry for misjudging this thing that you call pop'n music.
(but it still won't beat the original)

The buttons are facing each other in a way that reminds me of The Bishi Bashi, another game by Konami. It looks to me like Konami simplified it so that it will compete with the likes of all the 'Hero games that are out now, especially with the UI they've got. It's a big visual upgrade from the current pop'n music games. And the GF&DM songs makes me think that Konami wants to use this to be a catch all release for America that replaces all three games with one button masher that has guitar and drum driven music (DROP THE BOMB >_>, Konami's still allowed to use that song?) while they let their Rock Revolution franchise take over the instruments category.
How long before arcades stop stocking tickets cause the same three kids always empty the machine in a single afternoon?

Somewhat unexpected if you ask me.

Does this thing even still exist? Is it really still location testing?
If so, tell me where it's suppose to be and I'll personally go find out if it's still there.
