beatmaniaIIDX home version is yet on another hiatus.
One year has passed since beatmaniaIIDX16 EMPRESS was released on the PlayStation 2 and there has been no mention of the next home version of beatmaniaIIDX. Japanese players are all showing their support to Konami by suggesting the desire for the game to be developed and released via the enquiry systems at konamistyle.jp and konami.jp.

We can also take part in this support by tweeting #CSSIRIUS and #2DXCS on twitter!

This is Sirius
Anyway this might at least make Konami tell us something if anything. It also shows there's still a strong support for the game in Japan. Just have to wait to see what happens.

As for me personally, I 100% support the release for the next beatmaniaIIDX17. Now that it's on this site and on bemanistyle.jp, let's hope this petition gains much more momentum!

Even if this were to come out on PS3 and I never get to play it, it would still be awesome to know Konami listened to the fans. I will definitely support the cause on Twitter.

I hope another BM gets released on American consoles. And maybe Pop'n, too.

I have a feeling that we might end up needing one for DDR X2 as well.

I support this as well. I'm currently saving up for my own IIDX home setup and would like to see the CS releases continued.

Hmmm... If that happened I wouldn't be surprised actually. Although, I wouldn't consider DDR X CS JP something that Konami could end the series with. IIDX had Empress CS which had a pretty large songlist.Post #11 · Posté à 2010-10-14 10:24:32am il y a 13.9 années

I think that the ps3 is the ideal console to continue DDR and IIDX CS, however, I believe that there are two possible reasons to keep that from happening:
-Sony doesn't like games that don't take full advantage of the capabilities of their flagship console. Simpler games are PSN material. Bemani games are not very graphically intense, hence Konami's effort in making the new PS3 DDR so (annoyingly) flashy and even add the PSMove to the mix. I have a feeling that the arcade songs will make it to this version as DLC. Maybe if they keep the idea from last year's demo of one being able to switch "themes" in the game and they have the X2 AC skin available (as DLC OF COURSE HAHAHAHAHA), maybe they'll FINALLY please everyone...not before nickel and diming their hardcore fans to death first!
-Developing PS3 games is much more expensive and harder to make a revenue from them. Bemani games are released in moderate amounts, and it is likely that the usual bemani crowd that buys every new arcade port they make is not enough to make the desired income from the games.
Either way, I support this and I'm definitely willing to buy a PS3 if they port Sirius to it.

If Sirius CS went to the PS3, I would try to get a PS3 as soon as I could.
@CoreyBlaze:
I see what you're talking about in your first point too. Sirius' interface (or any other IIDX interface) isn't too complex, so most of the PS3's potential isn't used.
All IIDX interfaces are all designed for a 640x480 resolution with the ability to be scaled to 16:9. So this would mean the interface would have to be redesigned to fit all the picture resolutions.
Then the part where it costs more to develop on the PS3 comes into action plus what you mentioned with revenue.
I'm crossing my fingers that Konami will listen to their fan base

Just a question, by "hiatus", do you mean it was started but postponed or do you mean never started to begin with?
If it's the former, there's a slight bit of relief that they actually thought about it but not much.

Again, the 360 came out in 2005, PS3 in 2006 along with the Wii. Its 2010 now Konami, lets move on and finally bring the series to a next gen console.

I don't think that just because we haven't heard anything about it doesn't mean that it's on hiatus... Konami simply don't have anything to show or tell at the moment?
Unless they have outright said that they are not releasing anything?

@FELMDemon, nothing is mentioned about SIRIUS CS from Konami at all, which makes everyone believe they are not even considering it.
Before each recent IIDX CS game, there would be score data collection from the AC games for RIVAL DATA in the CS game, compared to EMPRESS CS, it's way past schedule.
