I don't consider the cropped artwork from the 5th Mix interface to be "banners" in the conventional sense, so I'm all for custom ones being available for those who want them, as an optional extra. 
I've created three banners for this song myself over the years, including the two above.

okay and it wasn't like that originally, they replaced the banner with the fanmade one and changed it back after i made my comment. i did fully read what you said and unfortunately you were 2.5 months too late. get with the program.

The custom banners are just added in the "Other Information" section, taken from the comments or other sources ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm not going up against people for choosing to use alternate artwork. I'm just calling into question replacing the official artwork for it by default, on a site that's attempting to preserve things as closely as possible. It'd be like replacing the charts and hosting that as official just because you don't like how it flows.

It's up to you if you don't like "destroying the accuracy". But don't go against people who want to use custom banners, it's up to them too.
There's lots of people (me included) that find the 5thMix banners horrible.
They have half the resolution of the DDRMAX (and up) ones, 128x40 vs 256x80. It's small, but they could've at least tried a batch job in photoshop to resize the old banners and even though smaller they would've looked better.
Btw, if people take the time to design a proper banner is actually the opposite of "lame".

i'mma keep it a buck: if a song already has an official banner, it should keep that official banner. whichever is the highest quality version of that banner. idc if it's a crop of the bg like most 5thMIX songs. custom banners replacing official ones is extremely lame and defeats the purpose of an accurate simulation.
