| Comments | Suggested X-scale ratings:  4 |  6 |  7 |  11 |  14"Agadoo", believe it or not, is actually an English-language cover of a French song from the 1970's called "Agadou dou dou"; however, the cover by Black Lace, when it was first released in the 1980's, greatly surpassed the popularity of the original. Black Lace learned the song at a club called Gossips, where the original French version had become popular; the duo learnt the dance to it and wrote their own English lyrics for it, covering the song and turning it into the phenomenon it is today. Nowadays, it is a favorite at parties in the UK much like the Cha Cha Slide or the Cupid Shuffle - and I only just discovered it this year.  The song has also been recorded in Dutch, Thai, Greek, Portuguese, Czech, and supposedly Spanish and German too. (Shoutout to 1033Forest for introducing me to this song!) |
