| Comments | Oh, I don't have a file with a challenge chart in my category yet. Song cut by chewi. Check out his simfiles, he does quite good as keeping things conservative and fun at the same time. This is my (lucky) 23rd simfile, and the 2nd file I successfully completed for Simfile Shuffle 2016. Hands down, I think I wasted all of my Simfile Shuffle luck on getting assigned this one out of about 16 files. Something for everyone. Beginner and Light are probably amongst my best Beginner/Light charts, Standard is an attempt to emulate chewi (to signify the fact I knew who submitted it), Heavy seems to put itself together as I wrote it (with a sprinkle of shock arrows for an extra kick). Challenge would've easily gotten my +5 if someone else stepped it; I finally figured out how to use 16th jacks and (reverse) tell jumps in a not-so-difficulty spiky fashion, and there's a giant amount of technically mixed in such a way that's still fun for pad play (unlike Streamers). I expected at least top half, which is what I normally want to be in. But not much else outside that. I believed at least one person wasn't going to like it, especially because some people in the Z-I-v audience generally don't enjoy non-DDR features such as rolls and mines... both of which I used a lot of in challenge. Contrast to what the first half of files led me to believe, I saw very tough competition ahead, with I Can't Fix You standing out in particular. In fact, I was certain that it was going to be the chart of the round. +3. Very happy to see points after a while of no one else voting! +1 (4). ledgam3r1279 was someone I wasn't expecting to vote for my file, so I was pretty happy here too. +5 (9). Holy shit, someone really loved my file! I saw good things in the future, although still knew my luck could run out at any moment (Valkyrie...). +3 (12). Surely enough, I Can't Fix You is having a great start. And right now, that, Overdose, and Like Fire Tonight have points from everyone so far. Last time I had a file on a points-from-everyone streak, it stopped at 12 points. +5 (17)...? "outclasses the rest of the round"?? Yes, I made a good file, but... I was certain there was at least one file better than mine. Right? +4 (21). At this point I'm guaranteed green as the final threshold for that ended up being 18 points. Regardless, I'm loving this. +2 (23)? Holy shit. ROOK tends to be very tight on what he votes for (he doled out three +5s only in the previous round), so the fact that I landed in even his points threshold is astounding. This is awesome, at this rate, regardless if my streak breaks here, I'm definitely gonna see the podium. :3 But then it keeps going. +3 (26). Even more surprisingly, just like that, I Can't Fix You's streak ends here! I'm still not above that file, but dang. I'm even pretty close to beating my previous record of 28 points (Rock the Club)! ...+5 (31)? ...what is this s-shit... what... +4 (35)??? EXCUSE ME? I'm practically touching first place; Literally what did I do with the charts that's causing my file to do so well?! +5 (40)?! OH MY GOD, WHAT?? IT'S STILL GOING?! +5 (45)-- WHAT???? ANOTHER +5?!?! +5 (50) *faints* That's every vote cast. And I did it. I didn't see this file being the one to net me first place, but it did. And points from everyone is really rare, even some of the best files ever submitted had at least one person that didn't vote for them. Z-I-v's audience can be unpredictable. Embraced things while I could, since I know it'll never happen again. Well... Enjoy. |
