Comments | This is THE StepMania GlobalOffset Standard. If you sync your machine's Global Offset until this song plays perfectly, then your will match the standard and you can share simfiles with others without worry about offset issues. NOTE: ITG Arcade machines do not use this standard. |

Oh well, I don't use SM5 and my input is good enough so I don't need to touch it

I just tried that case for 4th times in SM5 with 0 GOS, assist tick syncs with music (while inputs aren't). I'm sure that the case you mentioned happens in SM3.9 and SM4 builds only, where both don't sync to music. It happened to me long time ago before sm-ssc.

Yeah, but when you touch your GOS your assist tick goes out of whack and that's annoying >_>

Normally with GOS untouched, Default assist tick in SM5 is in sync with music, while inputs aren't. Maybe you got perfect input controller so you don't need to touch your GOS then.

I don't think GlobalOffset needs to be set. My StepMania is dead on out of the box.

So I just checked the sync on this file against current ITG standards and it's actually dead on...which means that if you can time really well by ear, you potentially could use it to find your GlobalOffset >_>

I prefer not to touch my Stepmania sync at all. All my Stepmania setup is the default and I don't see people complaining about the sync on my file so yeah.

He still can't get over about being too touchy about syncing.
I still prefer Machine sync using z-i-v's official DDR simfiles, than standard sync simfile from sm5, or any SM with audio calibration tool.
