"Two milkmen go comedy" |
For those who have caught up on my strange narrative, I thought I would re-introduce the concept with working with BEMANI/localizers to improve EVERYONE's DDR experience- even those who have no clue what DDR is, or those who play casually.
I've felt like an angel who just wants every person to have fun with the game, whether it's playing a licensed song on beginner, or playing ENDYMION.
I'll start: More licensed songs and more variety with song choice- I personally like songs that have charts rated 8-14, at least on doubles.

OK... but literally we have no say in the songs or charts Konami makes. You made it sound like this would be a thread about stuff we could do to make the DDR community more welcoming.
So this just makes... no sense

We can get a plane to Konami HQ and hold the programmers at gunpoint? That's about the extent of what WE can do.
Also can you stop posting like you're having a stroke? No one can understand what you're saying, dude.

We can’t do much ourselves, but I think DDR would be 100x better if it had a decent amount of Konami originals that weren’t just extra stage boss songs and it didn’t have a default song list that is basically a garbage dump of songs that come from other sources and other bemani games.

I would love to see additional styles of music and give the game more variety of music from different corners of the world. Also give commission artists and from other company's (crossing for Naoki!) a chance to shine on this stage.

This feels like DDR 2018 Wishlist thread v2, but with a different thread title.

You mean how "could" we improve DDR A if we had a say in the matter? Honestly like I've said before with DDR 2018, the song release structure should at least be equal to other BEMANI games like SOUND VOLTEX. It seems like over the years, DDR gets more and more barren with updates. I don't know if this is an indicator of the potential fate this franchise will have made evident by REFLEC BEAT, but this is a discussion for elsewhere.
Moving on, I think the other suggestion I would have is a 20 to look forward to as a numerical commemoration to DDR's 20th anniversary. Before the event started, I had this hope that Konami would have acknowledged KAC 2018 as the perfect opportunity to pull a SDVX and reveal a 20 that the Finalists could have played as their final song. Obviously that was not their plan and it was a very sad opportunity missed, but I can see that there's another good chance Konami has.
Considering Konami has made DDR 20 years ago in the month of September, I'd be someone to take the opportunity to reveal the first 20 in that same month. At this point, I feel like the best DDR players have come close enough in skill to challenge a 20, considering Konami barely let us transition from a 17 to an 18 in SuperNOVA, I don't see why we can't have a 20 by now. Especially since SDVX has had a 20 for quite some time.
But yeah, those are my two main ideas for DDR A right now. Not a whole lot else to say, because it's a pretty decent game all things considered.

I'm sorry, you're right. (I'm acting this way until March comes around...)
Could someone please link to the wishlist thread and lock this one? My life has been a little bizarre, at least from my experience.

We can't even get a page in before we start talking about how badly this game needs a 20.
Spoiler: she don't.
Seriously. There's plenty of other hard content out there already, let the medium to slightly hard range of charts (13-17s) be Konami's thing, and go play custom files for harder stuff.

DDR fans having their cake and eating it too is like the number one thing they're known for just let it happen
When the 20 comes out the people who said "I want a 20" will complain about the unfair difficulty

Well, I'm happy as long as there are interesting doubles charts to play.
It's just that aside from licenses and BABYLON's ADVENTURE, most of the new content so far doesn't interest me much.

I'm all for interesting and creative double charts, provided they make sense. What do you consider "interesting"?

If we could (somehow) convince Konami USA that it's actually worth their time to make Konami JP give them a say in things that aren't card games, we might get some change.
(Because that is actually the only thing that Konami USA has any input on, as evidenced by the fact that the only feature of the Konami site to be implemented fully in the US, to the same extent as in Japan, is the Card Game IDs.)

I wish they'd take a page from PIU and do something like Infinity, or Sonic Mania perhaps, and form an all-star team to make a spin-off that's more competitive for our market.
If I were Konami, I would have settled to have the ITG team do that rather than have them get picked up by Andmiro to basically do the same thing.

The most important thing would be to get it out to more places. While I am lucky to have an Ace machine 20 minutes from my house, there are so many people I see saying things like "I'd play Ace more if it wasn't <insert high amount of hours here> away".
Other than that.... well, nothing that hasn't been said a million times already.
