DDR 2018 Wishlist

So, assuming (and hoping dearly) that Konami will create and awesome new ddr game for ddr's 20th anniversary in 2018, what would be on your wishlist for that game? Ddr has already been improved with ddr a, but hoping a few more things will be changed/added.
Here's a few things on my list:
-Lots of original content
-Some great revivals (midnite blaze :3)
-New costumes for all characters (and hopefully previous ones from supernova, X)
-Possibly some character revivals like Lady or some Zukins
-Chart remasters (like x-specials I guess) but not just on challenge
-A big event that doesn't just feature Rinon (I love Rinon but I think we've had enough now)

What would you like to see?

I would be down for some pre supernova revivals with never before released challenge charts.

By this, you mean something like "2008 X-Edits"?

I want to be able to use the following speed modifiers more than anything:
1.125x, 1.375x, 1.875x, 4.25x and 4.75x. Maybe I'm acting like a spoiled child but yeah, having these would be extremely helpful.

I just want the newest DDR game localized at the least, bonus points if we finally get a cabinet somewhere in Oregon.

1) All old songs gets a Challenge chart. I say this because there's a lot of songs in Extreme and Supernova that has mediocre Expert charts and could really "revive" them with awesome Challenge charts (with or without Shock Arrows)

2) All DDR A marquee be changed when the new mix comes. All it takes is for Konami to mail it in to Dave and Busters and Round1.

3) Somehow make the eAmuse login faster when starting a game.

4) Bring back Screen Filter, Noteskin options and .25x and .75x increments for non-eamuse play. You see, sometimes the machine just can't connect online for whatever reason, so this would be appreciated.

5) I really want the shitty groove radar specials gone. Unlike the X specials, which are at least decent albeit jackhammer happy, the groove radar ones are pure bullshit. I'm sure many of you agree.

Whoa, I could see more than a handful that could use them, but I also think there are lots of older songs where I think a Challenge would be purely unnecessary. If anything, those unnecessary ones would be like a copy and paste of the with Shock Arrows.

I think that's a network issue. I'm not sure if Konami or anyone could do anything about that.

I have two friends who'd be really upset if those SN2 special charts were removed. This includes the DEAD END one...

what i wish for DDR 2018?.... simple:

- Revivals and old and Home edition songs (like midnite blaze, midnite blaze SySF Mix, on the jazz an obviusly... LOOK THE SKY!!!)
- More (seriously.... MORE) SDVX and Museca crossovers but not pure exit tunes, Dynasty, Virtual bit, Virtual sunrise, Cold Inflation, Croix, STRANGE JOURNEY, Vampin' Magic and more good songs for DDr in my opinion.
- Finally a lv.20 extra stage.
-More original songs for DDR
-And the return of Course mode

I know probably all this is dumb but... that's what i wish for

The return of old characters like Akira, Charmy, Devil-Zukin, Lady and Janet and for the actual... new costums

20th anniversary = the first 20

More western pop music

- less focus on the edm stuff (sorry U1)
- less touhou, denpa, etc
- more variety
- more KOs made for DDR exclusively
- replace crowd noises, maybe the announcer too
- less boss songs, but not too easy charts
- more updates, stop sucking off iidx konami
- less sdvx influence, ddr needs it's own identity
- i don't see revivals happening from AC mixes, but Surrender (PureFocus Remix) from DDR II can happen, so make it happen . Ride on the Light from UM2 (or technically IIDX) would be great too since we got Surf on the Light in another BEMANI game recently.
- less grinding events, there are better ways to make money, like adding new songs
- if we do get bemani crossovers, let's get stuff like Last Hometown, Elisha, Sakura Reflection on board! Wuv U too.
- and most importantly Tell It To My Heart/Taylor Dayne, a worthy DDR mix everyone can get into

I agree with pretty much everything that's been said: more revivals and original songs with more frequent updates. Crossovers are welcomed but not when they take up 50% of the new song list.
Also the first 20 is a given, I don't even care how broken it is, I just want to see that milestone passed.

I'm in the minority when I wish for is another home console release. Hasn't been a new console release since DDR II on the Wii.

-more 9-12 range charts. Casuals don't play the 15+ range, we don't need that many.
-more catchy licenses (western preferably).
-less crossovers. I have no idea what the musical identity of this game is, I hear EDM and TOHO and I can't discern if this is SDVX or not. More KOs for the sake of originality and identity.
-no more events where people have to grind for 500 days and nights to play a song and then fail and do it all over again.
-Just make your stupid 20 with your stupid notes and your stupid EDM wobbles and BPM changes, make it really bad and unplayable, we'll eat it up anyway. be sure you attach an event to it.
-don't lock options, if someone wants to mess around with the play options let them, most casual players don't even know how to get in there.
-courses I guess. that'd be cool.
-more 19s, just make as many as possible and you're bound to make one that is acceptable. Make like 200 19s, chart the entire m1dy discography, attach an event where you grind for 500 days and nights to pass a course of each 19 with 4 lives.

DDR 2018 would be nice, but to me it still feels like DDR A came out a month ago and I'm still waiting for content to roll in.
Only songs that stood out on this mix were stuff like Come to Life and Astrogazer. Didn't really feel the rest of it.

DDR A is going on 2 years coming up, about the same lifespan as ddr 2014 before ace came out, plus its the 20 year anniversary so I'd expect a whole new game especially if they're trying to reboot ddr.

I wouldn't mind seeing a 20 just for the sake of seeing what a 20 is in Konami's eyes

I definitely agree with the change in events. I feel like RDi was cool but pointless because you don't actually unlock anything you just play over and over again to grind those songs on extra stage for a chance to play max. Or over the period. It's the same with extra exclusive and Endymion like i feel like if we progressed this far and played this much and passed Endymion and ace for aces that we should unlock them right there instead of waiting. At least BoP had you grind to actually unlock the songs. End of rant.

Probably just a few Dancemania revivals from DDR 4th-5th Mix (or up to Extreme?) since they revived a few Dancemania licenses during the 10th anniversary.

Or maybe more vocaloid songs. Character revival is ok, I guess?

For me, I want a 20-footer just to see people try to pass it, Dancemania revivals, maybe some new charts for the older songs (would the be considered XX-Specials? ), and a lot of other stuff that you guys already mentioned (like songs that aren't all 15+, among other things).

Just to be different, I would like one thing: Generic background videos to come back. I've said this when SuperNova 1 came out, and I'm still saying it 11 years later; I'm not really fond of seeing dancers on some generic stage. Then again, I practically grew up with Max-Extreme, so I'm most likely a little biased, but you know, in Max 2, they had an option where you could add a dancer in front of the BG videos, so...

Well, I wish that there was an option to turn the announcer and cheering noises off if you didn't want to listen to them; I also think it would be cool if you could change what the announcer sounds like. There would be all the announcers from past DDR games as well as some "novelty" announcers like Pop'n Music Tune Street had (e.g. a "macho"-sounding man, a sultry female voice, Alt's voice, etc.).
It'd also be cool if you could change your character like in the older games, and there were options for crossover characters (e.g. IIDX DJ's, SDVX characters, Pop'n Music characters) as well.
Also, a speed mod system with values that go up by .1, a la Pop'n Music, would be nice.

EDIT: The new charts for old songs could be called "A-Specials"!

• Would be cool if split timing became a regular thing and wasn't just an AfA exclusive.
• Periodic chart events for severely under stepped/badly stepped songs, particularly in between the gaps for new songs.
• Like others have said, more variety.
• More non-Japanese music too.
• Get rid of or at least quiet down the announcer and cheering please
• If there needs to be a 19/20, make it pure footspeed-focused with only simple gimmicks.
