Z-I-v Simfile Tycoon '18 [Thanks for participating!]

Guys, I'm going to be taking a break from this competition for a while...
Lately simfile-making has been feeling more like work than fun for me, and my similes haven't been as best as they could be. I feel like it would be best if I take a break since recently I haven't been having the motivation I had in the past.
Sorry, guys, but I think I'm going to take a break up until break week and then return to the contest after that...
Though nothing is set in stone yet and if I feel up for it, I may try to get another file in before then.

The song I bought goes offsync near the end, shouldn't have to sync it myself. Requesting a refund.

I looked at the skeleton, and not only does it go off-sync toward the very end, the whole song drifts a bit off-sync as well. The refund has been approved, and chewi has chosen to get his money back for his simfile. Additionally, the skeleton submitter, K-Step, will be disqualified for this round, which is a bummer since he already submitted his simfile for this week. However, if he wants, he can buy in with a veto and get requalified back into Round D, with the simfile he already stepped. Until then, The Right Thing is DQ'ed for this round.

I just want to apologize to chewi for my skeleton. I honestly didn't know it drifts off in the song (as darkanine pointed out) and I didn't fully sync the whole song from the beginning to end. Perhaps I thought it'd be like Simfile Shuffle skeleton rules where you only provide the base BPM, offset and cut, and the stepper does whatever they do to the song (mainly referring to this post), but that doesn't excuse what happened on my end. I'm sorry you wasted your bid on my skeleton, chewi. I truly am.
I've asked darkanine for a veto to requalify in the PMs since I already made my file and I don't want it to go to waste.

I don't like what I've made for Foxsky so I'm not going to submit it. Sorry Gameoson. You can do a much better job than what I came up with if you step it on your own time anyway. You can make better graphics too.

+4 ね~え? - I thought the gimmicks were fitting, tbh. Maybe stop could've worked better, but what's there is fine.
+3 CERBERUS - I enjoyed the rhythm selection and patterns mostly worked out. Very DDR-esque. Only thing bringing it slightly down are the mines that down' EDIT: jk don't think there's any mines. Moved comment to 16 note
+2 16note - Also a pretty DDR-esque chart. was pretty nice too (aside from the hands...and the mines that didn't go to anything exactly)
+2 marble soda - The mines in bothered me a bit, but otherwise solid
+1 Pelo - I kinda wish there were more speed changes. I think this song warranted a few more slowdowns here and there.
+1 CACTUS - Looks fun! I think the 12ths could have been stepped using different types of gallops (i.e. L-RL-UL-UL-DL-DL instead of L-LR-RD-DU-UR for almost the whole song, where the same foot repeats twice in a row.
+1 Tonight Again - Not too bad.
+1 ナチュラルに恋して - Rhythms seemed a little messy or out of focus sometimes. You'd do a smidge of vocals and switch to something else before the vocals finished.
Grow Up - Oy, those 16th jacks/footswitches look impossible to execute correctly. Rhythms also didn't feel like they clicked with the song a lot.
This Fire - Not too bad. Hands aren't really my thing though...
The Right Thing - Rhythms didn't feel like they flowed together well.

I personally think what I have there works and is more fun than being too complex to enjoy. As I said, I had a 10-footer ITG in the works. Now, I probably could've finished it before bolting out the door to catch a plane (greetings from Disney World :P)... The problem is that, like HealingDMax300, I wasn't confident in it and wasn't sure how to make it fun, and I worried that another Kocchi/nightowl/Here Comes the Money problem would happen so I didn't want to finish it. Meanwhile, I was relatively satisfied with how came out.

My general stepping style has changed a lot since Summer Contest 2016. As much as I enjoy technical stuff and what not, I've started to find making such files inordinately time consuming and more trouble than it's worth. Furthermore, actually getting a pad made me realize how uncomfortable that stuff can be, even if it's otherwise well-made.

I think I know what bits you're talking about, though. During the first chorus, I do miss an 8th note of certain vocal sections and instead used jumps to accent the piano sounds. I think it's more interesting than just following the vocals, but I understand if you didn't quite like it. Thanks for the comment!
