beatmania IIDX 25 CANNON BALLERS (AC)

Wow. DEATH ZIGOQ is, uh, really something. The song sounds like a bad blind date between BOMBER BOMBER and DOMINION, and it looks so overcharted. And the fact that the first boss song of this event has over 2000 notes just makes me think of this rant on IIDX and its notecharts (mostly in regards to SINOBUZ and especially Mare Nectaris).

Other than that, these unlocks are alright, I guess. Expanded!! is definitely the best and I also like FIRE BALL (kinda) and Usual days -remix- is nice to see in arcades.

I understand that a lot of people dislike that DEATH... Uh... DEATH ZIGOO song, but somehow I kinda like it. I mean, I would love a much cleaner cut of the song, but I like it more than I probably should.

So my local Round1 upgraded! I was playing it today and enjoying it lots. I'm still far from being an expert, but I feel accomplished for having cleared a couple level-7 songs and the 2kyu course.

Does anyone understand how the cameras work?

It's nice to see Massive New Krew master a bit more the reverse bass sound for their IIDX hardstyle songs.

Persephone in the style right after HADES? I see what you did there, Massive New Krew.
But actually this song is arguably the best in CANNON BALLERS so far, though it feels like it would be more at home thematically and musically in SPADA. Oh well.

Holy shit, this is the first time we've had an actual OMES since Lincle!

Append: Since this is being structured as an event and we're getting both an Extra Stage and OMES off the bat, I wonder if this means we'll have an extra stage progression kinda like Gitadora/older DDR games, where the OMES gets pushed down to Extra for a new OMES.

If only Konami was able to work something out with Bandai Namco so that they could use a few Ridge Racer songs for this style. Racer’s Delight from Ridge Racer Vita would work perfectly.

Direct vid of Papilio ulysses. Maybe the first SYUNN song I actually somewhat dig? But ES/OMES songs are always fascinating.

I finally got to play Cannon Ballers for the first time, and the new audio is apparent the moment you start a game.

Also, Compressor 3 makes the music amazing and super loud (it even drowned out screaming children, a feat once thought impossible); I don't think anyone is ever going to go back to Echo now. And it's nice I can unlock a couple songs without needing Paseli, which is always a plus!

Anyways, Konami announced a new "ARENA" mode/feature coming to this game soon! Basically gives IIDX a SDVX-style multiplayer aspect. The catch is that the cameras are forced on for some reason. Don't know what the other details are, but yeah, they're pushing real hard to make this an E-Sport. Now they just need to make this a thing outside of Asia to be truly considered an "E-sport".
