Talk about 2017 music here.
New releases, earlier releases, upcoming releases, mainstream, indie, YouTube, Soundcloud, Bandcamp, whatever.
Any genre, any artist, as long as it's not Bemani (we have respective threads for that).
Let's get a discussion going.

imo, it really wasn't

people kinda just lap up anything vaguely nostalgic at this point
if you're looking for some good nostalgia vibes, the new Bleachers and Jamiroquai albums are p. good stuff

thanks for your input, most appreciated
i've been finding myself listening to Connect The Dots / MisterWives more and more as of late, honestly a great album from start to finish. indie pop never sounded so sweeter.

Thinking I'm gonna post some recommendations later on today. Maybe even in video form. I've heard a lot of great albums so far, still hungry for more.

My favorite artists haven't released their albums yet... but there are songs that certainly DID catch my interest.
Tankard - Syrian Nightmare
(Finally a metal band decides to write a song about the ongoing civil war. Though I didn't expect Tankard would do it, since they normally like to make songs about beer.)
Nano - Hold On
(This one has become a huge favorite of mine, as it kinda symbolizes my long struggles to make my ends meet, to where I'm standing now. It also participated in Melodifestivalen 2017, where it only became a runner-up despite winning the televotes... damn you international jury, damn you to hell!)

Current Listen: Flying Microtonal Banana / King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard
What the heck is microtonal music? Well, in the Western world, we use a simple 12 note scale. Covers everything from C to, well, C. The white keys and the black key on a piano, standard stuff. Microtonal music focuses on the notes between those notes. The notes between the C and the C#, for example. Opens up a whole new world of musical possibilities.
This album consists entirely of microtonal compositions, using instruments set in 24-TET (Arab tone) tuning. Helps give the tracks a nice exotic flavor, but still sounds conventional enough to not be outsider.
This video does a better job of explaining microtonality than I ever could.
tl;dr: a bunch of dudes added extra frets to their guitar and made some kick ass exotic sounding garage rock, put it on the next time you drive through the desert
