I'm very hyped for this, even the dumb shit like 1 2 Switch I can see being amazing fun as a drinking game ($60 though, jeez..), that being said £279 for the core unit and no bundled game kills my launch hype. If it had been bundled with anything, throw in the aforementioned 1 2 Switch as it's a nice little tech demo, I'd have been happy grabbing it and Zelda but eh, I'll wait until there's a bundle package I think, akin to the premium Wii U with Nintendo Land.
Massive fan of the tech though, nearly everything they showed had my interest, new Mario looks great, I actually don't mind about the paid online if 1) it delivers great quality and 2) there are enough games to play online that justify it (which I'm not sure about yet..), I'll happily buy Mario Kart 8 again, Snipperclips looks BRILLIANT and region free means I can import Taiko no Tatsujin whenever that comes out and struggle to navigate the menus like I did the DS games.

I was hoping to be a price tag of $250, and $300 with a game in bundle. But, after seeing the technology that comes with the joy-cons, I can see why the price tag is what it is. Yeah, is a bummer that there is no bundle with a game (I was expecting at least 1,2 Switch be the new MiiSports). Don't get me wrong, I'm really really excited, but it is not a launch worthy buy. Yeah, LoZ BW is promising epic (and that background song in the trailer, gave me chicken skin!), but it is not a ~$360 worth for a game. Definitively waiting for the holiday, so a bundle could be present, and buy Mario Odyssey (That 64 vibe gave me nostalgia). The let down for me is the lack of games in launch (even for the year, I was expecting more from 3rd party support). This is looking more and more like the 3DS launch (it began with a lot of 3rd party port games, and then the support began to decrease).
Recommendations: Capcom should port Monster Hunter and Phoenix Wright. EA should make at least ME Andromeda compatible. Hoping for that Square Enix RPG. And Yes!! F!@#$ng No more Heroes 3! (but it appears that 2018 would be the year for it).

ALSO THEY SHOULD PUT A BETTER FUCKING STREET FIGHTER ON IT THAN HD REMIX
Not confirmed, but I don't think you can even keep them after the month.

"free nes/snes games" (despite being behind a subscription) is a feature in 2017? I think i've played free nes/snes games on platform that isn't nes/snes as early as when the kid that was me got his first own computer
Not confirmed, but I don't think you can even keep them after the month.

That is confirmed. You only get that game for a month then after that you have to pay for it. The most Nintendo thing.Quote: Pallero

I don't mind the concept of paid online anymore, but Nintendo's service blows when compared to Sony's and Microsoft's services.
Y'see, paid online for PS and XBOX consoles makes sense because 80% of the big games on those consoles are mainly online. When you think of big games on those platforms right now, you'll think of titles like Overwatch, the Battlefield games, Fifa, Street Fighter, Rocket League, and more.
Compare that to Nintendo Switch, which only has a few notable games with online so far. Splatoon 2 is the only game so far with a dedicated emphasis on online play: I don't think that Nintendo is offering enough yet to justify a paid service for this.
Also, PS Plus and XBOX Gold give you a ton of free games that have been released within the past few years. Nintendo, on the other hand, is temporarily giving fans one Virtual Console title. I'm a big Nintendo enthusiast and even I know I'm being scammed.
Nintendo better not charge much for this service. PS Plus is $69 per year right now; If Nintendo is even 50% or more of that price per year, I'd say it's a bad trade-off.
Just opinions.

Did someone give the Suda51 translator a hug after the presentation? I feel like he was about to burst into tears.

The Games with Gold deals and the discounts on the store for Gold users has made getting Xbox Live a good idea, even if you don't play online. Even if Nintendo actually managed to get online play right with this one I still wouldn't feel all that inclined to get into it.

Exactly.

Speaking of retro games, I'm curious to learn what the Switch will offer on its Virtual Console services. SNK has already confirmed that they have plans to put NeoGeo games on the Switch, so I'm equally excited to see what else will pop up on this thing.

I hope this doesn't spell the end for them putting Neo Geo games on Steam. They were always the best way to get them.

I had a revelation.
Remember these Genesis bootlegs? Mario 3: Around The World, and Mario 4: A Space Odyssey?
Well, Super Mario Odyssey is a game where Mario travels around the world.
Coincidence or not? Probably a coincidence, but it's funny either way.

I was shocked when I saw the Mario Odyssey trailer.
I was like 'did Mario found his way back to Brooklyn!?'

I wonder which kind of Rhythm games would easily match the Nintendo Switch. Taiko Drum Master is already planned for the Switch, which makes sense: The Joy-Cons could easily mirror the sticks. What else could work?

Hopefully nothing, I really want to be hearing everyone beg for Bemani on the Hot New Nintendo Console(TM) like the WiiU again! It's so much fun.
