Maybe the upgrade is more like an exchange? I don't see how they'd physically upgrade it.

Nostalgia is using a modified Beatstream cabinet. I'd imagine they'd swap out the front panel that sits under the monitor.

This is bittersweet...
BeatStream was awesome while it lasted, but I know Nostalgia will be wonderful too...

I still never got to play BeatStream. Maybe I'll get to if i go to another convention with Tokyo Attack or someone else if they bring it. In all honesty though the gameplay of Nostalgia looks like something I would enjoy more anyway.

I haven't tried it but apart from the colorful visuals I don't see the hook with the game which I'm clearly not the only one to think so since Konami's ending support for it. Hope Qrispy Joybox moves back to his position in REFLEC BEAT. RIP BeatStream, you're now heading towards the graveyard of dead BEMANI franchises like FutureTomTom, DanceEvolution, DanceManiaX, Mambo A Go Go, etc.

I don't think one should be any surprised that BeatStream is coming to an end. It wasn't exactly well received to begin with as far as I know. Correct me if I'm a few details off.

I thought BeatStream wouldn't have lasted once it started. Then AnimTribe came and looked way more promising, but I guess it just wasn't profitable.
