The YUME arcade has been added to Zenius-I-Vanisher and all info has been updated to the latest available, be sure to check it out if you're in the area! It's right beside AnimeXtreme and Kensington Market. https://zenius-i-vanisher.com/v5.2/arcade.php?id=9337

The Daily Hive got a look inside the new Rec Room opening up on Granville Street yesterday—looks like Vancouver's getting its fourth Pump LX cab, and it's a brand-spanking-new 2024 model to boot!
...Too bad it's right next to a punching bag.
Me, I'm just psyched to finally have a Pump cab that I can reach in less than an hour for the first time ever.
Amenities? Probably no fans like in Brentwood. Upkeep? I just hope the Granville management is going to be less neglectful than the Brentwood management. But at least it's brand new, so it'll at least feel good to play on for the first month.
Is CHQ worth it over this? Well, for almost double the price (assuming you buy the most expensive credit packs at the Rec Room every time) you get Vornado fans, a pad modded and maintained for pro play, and a stream cam—so probably if you've got the money, and especially if you're playing 20's and above. But compared to Brentwood and Central City Fun Park, I think it might be worth it if you live more on the western half of the GVA.
...Oh, and I did add it to the arcade list—not much to write about until it opens, though. Hope they make the November 2024 opening window!
EDIT: So I have good news and bad news.
The good news is that it's finally open after multiple delays, and that it's a brand new 2024 LX cab!
The bad news is that it's offline, stuck on v2.01, the pad is right up against the cabinet, and for the supreme privilege of this dogwater setup you have to pay 12 CREDITS (about C$1.64-C$3.00), more than any other Rec Room in the country.
It is incredible how rapidly the Vancouver rhythm game scene went from intrigue and hype for this Rec Room to not even wanting to look at it within mere minutes of its grand opening. Bravo Cineplex, you never fail to disappoint us.
At least we have CHQ.

Okay good news: They moved the pad back and brought it online. Now it's actually worth going if you are one of the few people who actually lives closer to downtown than Metrotown, Brentwood, or Surrey.

I would def not recommend for high level play until pads are modded but that price point still stands, unless it's a tuesday which is half off which somewhat justify's the price when modded apart from that it's not a good deal apart from being a really central location.

More interesting developments in terms of dance games in Vancouver... Recently a random brew pub in False Creek became the first place in Metro Van to have a public StepManiaX cab. The pricing is a bit stiff at $2 for 2 songs, but it beats going down to Washington. Plus, the cab is in pristine condition with great pads, and the pub is just a few blocks from Science World station. I can't complain, though I understand the people in VRG who currently are complaining.
Now if only CHQ still held onto their ITG2 cab—then we could have the full range of dance games, from DDR to Pump to SMX to ITG.
