I thought white was the combination of all colors, that is, if it works by additive colors.
On topic: The console seems pretty good. I don't think I'm getting it during its release though :/

Yup, black is the lack of any color. White is all colors on the spectrum bombarding your eyes at the same time.
I dont really want a Wii U.

I'm still waiting on the 3DS price to go down as low as possible before I cave for Paper Mario. Eventually...
But my boyfriend preordered the Wii Uand we're all making fun of him for it. I'll probably mooch it and play that Wonderful 101 game if it's good. It looks unique and crazy enough to try, anyway. Still trying to figure out how there are possibly enough launch games to make you want to buy the Wii U that soon, but I guess you need to get through one game before you start another.
I loved Pikmin 1, but I could never get into Pikmin 2 enough to care about Pikmin 3. The first Pikmin was easy to grasp with still a lot of strategy... Pikmin 2 was intimidating, I guess, even though I played like an hour or two of it. And so... screw Pikmin 3. xP

I'm definitely wanting the black deluxe console. HECK it does come with a game unlike the white.

I think I'm gonna skip on the launch. After buying both the 3DS and the Vita last year (Japan got the Vita before 2012), I'm gonna hold off being an early adapter for this one.

I don't know what it is about Nintendo lately, but neither the 3DS or WiiU have interested me in the least bit...and I'm a huge fan of the Wii.
I'll wait until there's plenty of games out that I want for it before investing.

I'm actually thinking about waiting now, like I did with the 3DS. $250 for a handheld system is a total ripoff. , let alone $350 for a WiiU that comes with ONE game. Good thing I didn't pre-order.
It'll be a much better deal when Super Smash Bros., Zelda, and Metroid come out if they come out... and a new Sonic game that doesn't suck, although Colors and Generations (console, not 3DS) were good, along with a price cut. When Nintendo decides to cut the price of the deluxe version to $250, then we'll talk.
I'm not usually the type to buy systems on the first day anyway.

I'm probably going to end up buying it for the first party games, regardless, but I am still on the fence on whether it will be my main console. Nintendo is being extremely tight lipped about features, specifically about communication. I'm looking for that voice chat otherwise I think I might just use Steam as my primary place for buying games and talking to friends.

I have my wii and I think i've had it for about a year or two so I'm holding off on a WiiU. My 3DS is only a few months old no there is no need for me to get the XL (though it would be nice to have to add to the Nintendo Handheld family that I have, just need a GBA and SP since those were traded in, well GBA was traded in for SP and then SP was traded in for original DS so I do have a huge hole to fill in).
Currently still trying to get my 360 fixed and I want a PS3 (dunno what games I want to get though I want to make sure that its one of the 2 original PS3s that have backwards compatiblity and only that I'll be able to get Blu-Rays (I know, I know, the stand alone Blu-Ray players are quite cheaper than a PS3)).
sorry to derail the topic for the moment

When Sony released the 60gb PS3, it costed $599 and came with NOTHING.

Aside from the Gamecube and GBC none of my Nintendo systems have had any real lasting longevity, they just stop working like they used to. The exceptions would be my GBASP because I sold it for a DS, and my DS and Wii because I sold those because I never played them. I bought a 3DS and it BSOD'd in less than a month, a new record considering my NES, SNES and N64 will at least play the game I put in them after some tricks, although all my N64 analog sticks are borked. And I take really good care of my things too, Nintendo just doesn't make quality hardware to match their software in my experience. So I won't be getting the WiiU for that reason, if my 3DS experience is to set the standard for this gen, its gonna crap out on me in a month after I sink money into the system, games and at least $200 on GOD DAMN AMAZING virtual console goodness.

I don't like how the 3DS takes a long time to boot up Thanks a lot, bloatware. Do we really care about AR Games, Face Raiders, or Mii Plaza? And i'm sure the WiiU is going to be the same way. The Wii loaded fairly fast (even though you had to press a button to go to the home screen). Not to mention that sometimes that the software can crash. One time I was playing Mario Kart local multiplayer, and my system froze (the game's visuals were still running, but none of the buttons [even Home] worked at all, so I had no choice but to forfeit and turn off the system.)
Keep in mind that downloadable content will increase boot times as well. Why doesn't Nintendo have a startup manager or something, so that only the games and apps you want to run are loaded at the time? And the 3DS doesn't even have a hardware switch to force turn off the system. It's done via software, so if the shut down program crashes, you'll have no choice but to let the battery die. Oh, technology.

I used a stopwatch to time it, it takes just under 8 seconds for the 3DS to start up from cold.
You actually consider that to be "long"?
For reference, it takes the Vita about 14 seconds to reach the "lock" screen.

Mine has a power button right on the front. I know because I used it repeatedly trying to turn my 3DS and off when I got BSOD.

Yeah, to be honest I don't have any problems with 3DS' bootup time.
I'm going to get a WiiU next year probably, once Nintendo shows more first party games (but I guess this won't be until next E3).

I hate turning the 3DS off. Of course I want to turn the thing off, I only held the power button for like 5 seconds.

The 3DS did freeze on me a couple of times but holding down the button wasn't too bad to reboot it, but staying on topic, I ordered the Wii U on impulse when Amazon UK listed the price as £199 for the Premium pack only for it to go up to £299 a moment after.
They are honouring the price.
