"ARR JOO LEADY??" |
Just a neat concept that, assuming I get my technology repaired/updated, I think would make a cool thing to do.
I'd like to hook my (post-repaired) laptop, along with some extra disk space (or a bigger HD), to a nice newer TV that has a PC-input; along with my PS2 and EyeToy. Then set up and record myself (on the opposite side of the arrows, using "Watch Me Dance" mode) doing routines to simple-themed 7-to-10-stage, custom Nonstop courses (maybe with a bit of showoff, and not-totally-perfect scores). Maybe break those courses in half (to fit within the 10-minute YouTube limit), and upload those to my YouTube channel. (Along with outtakes, maybe?)
Granted, that means I'll need a newer TV, a bigger hard drive (which I still need, anyways), and probably a replacement DDR Extreme 2 (newer PS2 thinks mine's not PS2-formatted anymore - wtf?!), first. Oh, and like I said, to get my laptop fixed. So, it may be a little further-down-the-road... but for now, I'm just putting the idea out there.
So far, I've got about 50 courses arranged/in mind, across the EyeToy-supported titles I do have currently:
DDR EXTREME (USA)
DDR FESTIVAL
DDR Extreme 2 (USA)
DDR STR!KE
DDR SuperNOVA (USA)
DDR SuperNOVA 2 (USA)
DDR X (USA)
...in such a way that most (non-sucky) songs are featured at least once, a few of them twice where applicable (like Normal and then Boss Rush courses), and even most all of the
charts at least once, maybe along with some of the more difficult
ones. Yes, even the shock arrow ones. (SuperNOVA 2's Boss Rush will break my ass, though.) Also note, this will probably be on a soft pad!
Would anybody actually be interested in seeing something like that, though? ^.^
(Some general simple themes include songs from IIDX, or GitaDora... or like, on DDRX, having a "SuperNOVA 2" set, etc.)

I am interested in viewing videos like that.
I would be more interested if they were on Doubles though.

That'd be cool, especially if you were able to get a line out of the recording so you could listen to the music playing in stereo instead of through the camera microphone

This is half the idea, right there. The other is a direct screen-recording of the arrows/interface, too; just using the EyeToy and "Watch Me Dance" mode to capture the action.
And I would like to do both single and double variants of the videos, actually! But admittedly, my showoff and boss-passing skill in notably lower in Double... Singles I'm at about L-17's (new system), where Doubles I'm more like still at L-15's.
I might need some character costumes though, and a little hand with those.

DDR EXTREME (USA) Courses:
Kickin' It Old School!

Through the Ages

IIDXtreme!

From Arcade EXTREME

Pop Off

Boss Rush EXTREME v.1

__________
As for most songs not featured yet, don't count them out! Some of them are featured in FESTIVAL courses, instead...
DDR FESTIVAL Courses:
Through the Ages (vol. 2)

Pop Off (vol. 2)

beatmania WORLD

IIDX CIRCUS (Arcade style)

IIDX CIRCUS (Ultramix style)

DanceManiaX Party

Boss Rush FESTIVAL

...also bear in mind, EXTREME-US/Festival will probably be later, since courses this long HAVE to be in Oni-Mode! Nonstop only allows 4 stages, remember? ;)
EXTREME 2 Courses:
Through the Ages (vol. EX-2)

EXTREME Anthems

EXTREME 2 Grooves (side A)

IIDXtreme! (vol. EX-2)

ULTRAMIX Anthems

EXTREME 2 Grooves (side B) (=could also work with STR!KE)

SPEED DEMON

Boss Rush EXTREME (vol. 2)

DDR STR!KE Courses (and then I'm calling it a night... halfway there...):
Smooth Tunes

ULTRAMIX 2 Jams

IIDX Mania (ver. UM-2)

IIDX Mania (ver. EX-2)

Challenging Stage!

Boss Rush STR!KE

SuperNOVA (USA) courses:
Radio Station SNUS

pop'n'tunes

GitaDora SuperNOVA

ULTRAMIX 2 Selection

Arcade Gems

SuperNOVA Anthems

DistorteD RED Sky

SuperNOVA CHALLENGE

Boss Rush SuperNOVA

(

SuperNOVA 2 courses:
Exotic Flavor

SuperNOVA 2 Selection

Downbeat Flow

Hot Spot

Atmosphere

GitaDora SuperNOVA (vol. 2)

SuperNOVA Selection (Arcade Edition)

SuperNOVA Selection (Online Edition)

DEATH WISH (Boss Rush SN2) = won't happen anytime soon. But eventually. I hope.

DDR X Courses:
X marks the spot (part 1)

X marks the spot (part 2)

SuperNOVA 2 Selection (X version)

Milky Way Madness

Club X

DDR X Anthems

SHOCK ZONE!! = will kill me, too.

DDR X Megamix

Boss Rush X = will kill me too... just not as brutally as SN2's!

__________
Naturally, I'll be bouncing between the titles, so as to not wear any particular songs/mixes out... so if you're concerned about a particular song appearing 2-3 times (or more), don't sweat it. They'll be spaced out!
Finally, I'd like to mix in some modifier/noteskin use for fun, so pick up to 3 courses, and tell me if you'd like to see them on...
SPEED: 1x / 1.5x / 2x (maybe 3x for the slower/moderate-paced ones)
BOOST: On / Off
SCROLL: Forward / Reverse
DARK: On / Off
ARROW: Vivid / Solo (Rainbow) / Note / Flat
TURN: Normal / Mirror (after all, I'm doing these on *Double*, too...)
NOTESKIN: (this option is really title-specific... but if you find one fits a particular theme, and is available, suggest it!)
APPEAR: Visible / Hidden / Sudden (for easier courses, sans boss-level songs)
Mix it up, too! Do you want to see me do well, or struggle?
