"I'm honestly pissed off." |
Sometimes, I want to play a good old well known song. But it just isn't challenging to pass. So I speed up the music, with Stepmania.

Anybody else like doing this? Anybody think I'm crazy?

I meant on pad. I don't really feel like speeding up songs means as much on keyboard.

It dosnt mean much on a pad either. All it does is space them out, only C mods really effect/change the gameplay (but not much really) It just forces a constant bpm. Speeding up something just changes the speed of the arrow movement, not the beats or steps themselves. Its kind of a mind trick, you think your moving faster but your not really, just seeing them faster. Watch someone play Bag or any song really, on a pad, one person at X5 and one at X1, their feet should move at the same time.
But i like things sped up, watching slow not charts is boring, and my ADD kicks in and i get distracted with Emi's background dancing XD .

Watch the video before you make an uninformed comment like that. I sped up the actual MUSIC, not just the scroll rate. You can tell if you know CSFILSM at all, because not only is the singing higher pitched, but anybody who knows the song knows that it's not normally as fast as I was moving.

I'll sometimes increase the speed when I'm playing courses on SM, but not in regular play.

Back before I knew of Stepmania, I used to play the GBC ddr games on emulator. The global offset was about half a beat off, and there were no mods (everything was on Flat), but I still managed to improve slowly and get better timing. Some of the hardest songs I remember were Dam Dariram, My Summer Love, and Luv to Me (AMD Mix). The kicker was that a few songs had a separate version called "Hard", in which the music was sped up. I tell you, trying to pass Luv to Me on about 1.3x rate,1x Flat and an offsync chart really gave me a run for my money back then.
Nowadays I just use it when playing Bus Stop's Na-Na on 1.2x, haha.

I remember this thing on YouTube about HamsterNOVA.
It took me a while to realize that the songs were just sped up. Any song with lyrics sounds like a hamster singing (if that even makes sense). XD
