Okay, so after looking at a video for CARDINAL GATE for BMIIDX13 DistorteD, I was thinking...

Why not have something like CARDINAL GATE for DDR?

Also, I saw after passing ES for IIDX, the EES automatically comes up.

I think DDR should do that too...

What do you think? Question Mark

You think that you could play PARANOiA ~Hades~ and Pluto Relinquish right after that? Boss Rush SN2? I don't think so.

Cardinal Gate is the extra stage system on IIDX DistorteD (also called VIP Room on IIDX Gold and Military Splash on DJ Troopers). For extra stage, instead of a boss song showing up, a folder shows up called Cardinal Gate or whatever. When you open it, the game's interface completely changes and the four boss songs appear. E amuse saves your progress and once you get at least an A on all four songs after getting all the way to extra stage several times, the game carries over to the OMES, which is the "boss of bosses" song. Something that I think makes it cool is that each of the boss songs has a unique gameplay skin that goes along with the song.

It basically looks like this

It would be cool to have something like this in DDR I think. Its a more creative Extra Stage system than DDR's linear system, and kind of gives it more stucture. It's a bit more awesome though with IIDX's style of boss songs, where the Extra Stage is a very hard song, and the One More Extra Stage is an even harder song, rather than DDR's style where the Extra Stage is a very hard song with forced mods, and the One More Extra Stage is an easier song with sudden death. DDR kinda moved away from that with SN2 though...

^you mean any ES and TMP right after it. thats the default EES after all.

as for a gardinal gate system, it works like this, oni. you meet certain requirements for ES, right? in IIDX there are various ways, my personal favorites(the easiest ways) are FC a 5 or pass a 7 with 100% meter. this lets you play an extra stage, but you cant access the ES songs. the cardinal gate requirements were(IIRC, havnt played IIDX in ages) AAing all stages and getting ES requirements for the final song(so AA a few easy songs then an easy 5 like 321stars was an easy way to get cardinal gate). from there you have a total interface overhaul where you pick one of five(?) ES songs, if you get EES requirements from them(AA on another with the hard mod) it went straight to EES. also, in IIDX difficulty doesnt matter at all. you can get ES on L7 and play it on another if you want.

edit: damn, got beat while i was typing Sad

it's alright, your explanation covered several things i didnt mention

though doesn't that only apply to the CS version? I thought that at the arcade, you can only access Cardinal Gate on Another difficulty.

Then let it be a nightmare. Those that don't understand Extra Stage are the casual players, and those that just just started getting into DDR.
