FEFEMZ did a good job. US getting second and third didn't mean they got fucked over by Konami as much.

Like... Saber Wing was the most ridiculous thing ever, and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd on that song was because of one Perfect differences.

While I agree that a few players were robbed of getting higher scores due to faulty pads, I have to give major props to FEFEMZ for having a spectacular performance at KAC. His playthrough of Over The “Period” CSP was absolutely fantastic. Everyone did a good job.

Aside notes:

During the first half of the DDR portion of KAC, I found a bit of discomfort seeing DOLCE not speak much, aside from the usual nods, agreements, smiles, laughters, and countdowns. This was especially true when BROSONI was allowed to commentate but not get a seat, despite carrying most of the conversations. However, my worries vanished when DOLCE started speaking, and brought some comments during the results and trophy presentation.

I do feel bad for the English/Japanese translator not getting her translations completely accurate; she seemed really stressed out. Wonder how much pressure was put on her?

All in all, despite the drawbacks, all the players did great. Best of luck to them in the next KAC. I’m sure we’ll be seeing most of them for the DANCERUSH portions.

Instead, an American didn't win, so clearly it was fixed so Japan would win, and skill+luck were not the determining factors. Ok.

Running a tournament on stock pads is like having a fighting game tournament where arcade sticks are banned because pad is the "default".

So I've been thinking about this for a long time, and I'm really conflicted. On one hand, the champ needs to be prepared for anything. On the other hand, not only was the wording of the song pick rule and the scoring rule wonky as fuck, the communication was poor as well.

What happened happened though, and we all need to move on. The tournament is over, Fefemz won, and we have dozens of screengrabs of Chris trying to hide his frustration with everything to pore over until the next KAC.

Assuming DDR isn't replaced by Dance Rush by then, and from the looks of things Fefemz is ready to crip walk his way to victory in that too.

I was rooting for Chris, but Fefemz played extremely well and rightfully re-earned his victory. Plus, I imagine it's a huge personal victory for him as this is his last major event before he has to go off to the military.

I'm just going to assume there were tech issues because he seemed to be taking his headset off alot during the semis? Maybe I was half awake but it seemed that way after each song. Or it was causing reverb or something idk.

About the pads? Both Chris and Fefemz played on the same side... and since they were 1/2... and songs were PFC'd on that side... you could say that you should be willing to adapt to different arcades/pads if your the best, never get too comfortable with your setup. And the song pick rules? Every tournament will be different, there needs to be a price for having a straight entry into the finals so I wouldn't complain...
