I like that they're keeping with the EDMness of DDR A with the western license picks.
Yeah pretty much this. Half the songs chosen fit right into DDR's style, and the ones that aren't are a nice variety. I mean, a country song license on an arcade? That's really out there, honestly.Post #1602 · Posté à 2016-07-05 07:11:45pm il y a 9.8 années

The new songs are good, and (mostly) are dancable. UNLIKE 2010'S SONGS

Well.. This was a let down..
Care to explain your reasoning?
All of the licenses are lame in his opinion, probably.
Also in mine. It's not exactly Gorillaz and LCD Soundsystem.

Can we be sure that's the full license list, though?

I love the licenses! I'm honestly surprised they're including well-known pop radio songs like Happy, Shut Up and Dance, and Break Free. This'll attract both casuals and rhythm gamers, which I really, really love. Well done, KONAMI!
Can't wait to see how the original songs from X3-present's song titles were translated and/or romanized. Overall, this seems like a good start for the American DDR A...well, at least, for me!

Im not a Pitbull fan, and sad to not see Clarity in the songlist (i would hope to see the kors k and DJ Noriken remix someday) but im happy for the rest of the licenses. Really Bemani put a lot of effort to revive the DDR scene in the US and i hope they keep doing this.
In other news tomorrow in BeNama will be about DDR and Jubeat, so stay tuned

I called the Orange, CA D&B during my lunch break to ask if they had the game in yet, or perhaps a timetable on when it would be available for play. The lady didn't know what I was talking about, but put me on hold to check. After about three minutes of waiting, I was rerouted back to her, and she said that she'd check again. After waiting some more, I was rerouted back, but this time, nobody picked up and I was disconnected. Frustrating, to say the least.

I sent an email to the Dave & Buster's Hollywood location asking the Special Events Manager when the new DDR A console would be set up and ready to play and her response was that she has been told it will be in about 3 weeks.
I'm guessing (and hoping) that she received this information a while back and it wont take another 3 weeks from today. Will keep in touch with them and perhaps I'll stop over and check if anything pops up.

Quoting a Facebook post:

Go ahead and compare DDR Ace to ITG how you wish, but consider these facts:
- ITG hasn't had a commercial standard in 10 years now, and where it has gone today fits for the small community that remains, and that's it.
- Because said community has gotten so used to taking the game into their own hands, anything that doesn't fit their view of a "quality dance game experience" is automatically dismissed and frowned upon.
- DDR Ace is going to be the first Konami title to usher in Konami-sanctioned eAmuse support for the United States. From here on out, we will be going towards a path where all Konami games could get official, localized support.
- The above fact is huge, because if D&B and Round 1 do well with DDR Ace. The following will happen:
1. Both companies will be enticed to fill more locations with DDR's. Round 1 is already getting 1 DDR Ace for every store as it is!
2. Soon, other games may start getting localized support to be sold in the U.S. for D&B to consider purchasing and for R1 to buy more of.
3. Smaller businesses could soon have access to buy DDR Ace for their arcade and in turn, buy other Bemani games. Imagine your local ProgrammedWorld arcade suddenly running on legitimately hardware/software.
To create this scenario, there first and foremost must be a customer base for it, both casual and hardcore. DDR Ace coming to the States officially has a much larger affect on the arcade market here than most of you guys realize. It opens the door for so many other games to come here, but all you dance game people can think about is how DDR is still worse than ITG, and because you dismiss DDR Ace, you dismiss the possibility of the US finally getting eAmuse support across the board. Going to your friend's private dance game cab to play for free instead of supporting what we have now is not what's going to push these games, and the community, in a direction that welcomes growth. We have this golden opportunity to show these companies that we have a community worth being recognized abroad, and we show that by supporting the companies that continue to produce these games we all love year after year.

The distribution of these locations seems bizarre. They're clustering like, three in some large city areas (Dallas area, I'm looking at you with your already two Round1s), while some large cities are being left out, for example: Portland, Minneapolis, Detroit, St. Louis, Denver, etc.. What I'd like to know, is what was the criteria for which locations got them and which ones didn't?

List of locations that were left out:

I'd love to know what the criteria for the first wave was.
We do know what the criteria for the next wave is though: DDR A must be successful at the first wave locations.

Oh, well, hype killed.
Are you fucking kidding me right now?
People constantly complain about Konami not supporting the US anymore, then Konami's finally going to bring DDR to America again, and you're still complaining? What criteria do you have to get satisfied?
Go find some other thing to interest in if you can't just be happy with what is given to you.
