I'm actually not sure where it is in this game.

That setting isn't in 3rd Mix CS. It's in 4th, EXTRA, and 5th mix.

Was hoping I'd be able to play my copy of EXTRA MIX on my PS3 but apparently now is the time they fucks with region locking.
Tried it on my SwapMagic'd PS2 and it just wouldn't register the game existing.

Have you tried Free McBoot? That's what I did so I could play my 3rd and 5th Mix discs.

FreeMcBoot only works with burnt copies of the games and not the official ones.
I know there are add ons for it but you can't find something that'll just bypass all region locking and let you play normal JP titles.

I used Free McBoot and Psxlauncher. Check out Project Phoenix Media's guide to it. It works on official PS1 discs too.

I use Free McBoot with my official copy of DDR 2nd Remix and aside from a little timing wonkiness it works okay.

"five minute white boy challenge"
This may be somewhat of an overreaction or a literal vent of frustration at this point, but I have to get it out.

Does anyone else feel like the good DDR players are too entitled? Like, seriously. I can't find one high-ranking player from the US who doesn't bitch about the availability of DDRA cabs. It's grating as fuck. Can't people who want to be the best at something learn some other game where it's viable to play for hours on end nonstop for days and weeks?

It gets even more stupid when people like CHRS4LFE mock people who say he's acting entitled... while simultaneously complaining every week about casuals playing "his" machine and posting videos to MGH over it.

I just don't fucking get it. Do you want this fucking game to get more popular or not? If the answer is "yes, I want this game to get popular again", then you're going to have to accept longer wait times and having to stop acting like you just got slapped in the face by walking into the Round 1 and not having the machine to yourself for three hours.

Tweet Konami. Email Konami. Tell them you want more DDRA outside of Asia. But for the love of god, stop fucking complaining that you have to wait longer to play it.

Approximately nobody asked for this song to be included. Least popular decision by the Japanese since Nintendo released the Wii U.

I mean, i'm nowhere near top level but i have a kinda neutral stance on this. Like, i know i definitely have to grind shit out sometimes in order to get the result i want and the arcade being busy does make that difficult at times, but i'm also basically patient to a fault so i will wait without complaint whether it's 15 minutes or 2 hours. I do kind of get where people like Chris are coming from, but at the same time, i'd never be like that over having to wait. Waiting is just a part of life. If it gets that bad, i'll just go play some shitty redemption games if i'm at my local DnB's or play another rhythm game if i'm at Round One.

So we're opening this can of worms again......

Short answer: You're both right. (Quickman & Chris)

Yes, the world needs more Ace machine. I just think someone from California was the W R O N G person to bring up that argument and the way it was phrased kinda sucked. Alternatively: You, being from the UK, are completely right in telling the entire US to suck a fat one regarding DDR Ace availability. But that's also not really Konami's fault. Games are expensive and not every mom and pop pizza joint is going to be able to afford it + the ridiculous cost of E-Amuse.

"Pancakes!"
There are people that travel many hours here in Florida just to play, and usually they are having to wait an hour plus for a round.

Our D&B should have had two machines. A few of the locals go to play for hours literally every single day so it makes it incredibly hard for me to play for sure. I can't even imagine someone taking a four hour trip just to be hit with an hour long wait in between rounds.

Not enough machines is a valid complaint. Saying you deserve the machine so you can grind out one less perfect on a chart you've played about 200 times already is not a valid complaint.

If there's something Chris needs to learn is that arcades are not for personal use (unless you own one privately) and that everyone can use it. It's literally arcade culture

No one should have free reign to a machine to any game. Period. I know one guy at Round One who hugs the speedier of the two SOUND VOLTEX machines on Fridays EVERY SINGLE WEEK (one of only two days eamuse doesn't go down for two hours a day), giving me the sob story for doing so as "I only play once a week". I then informed him I only play once a MONTH. Even after he left, another hog immediately took his place.

Fortunately our Round One DDR is never super hogged here at Exton. At least not until nighttime, typically...

I've been wondering, what does the Super Mode do in 2ndReMIX? I remember inputting the code when I played the game but I didn't notice any changes aside from the color change in the title screen

I'm astounded some DDR A machines get played so much. I went to two in Georgia March of last year ish and I almost had those machines to myself. In contrast, I made it to the one in Time Square about this time last year and the line was astronomical. Duh, there are more people there, but... there are that many people who play DDR... all at once??? I still hardly believe it, although more so now that you guys mention how difficult it is to play on other machines.

I guess the moral is if you wanna play DDR, move to the machines by Atlanta? Tongue I'm sure that's not incredibly difficult or anything...

I was admittedly acting overly entitled when I saw the machine list years back, like "why do these states get 3 machines an hour apart blah blah blah" but now it's like... with lines that long, I kind of wish densely populated areas had *more* DDR A machines. Konami gets more money thrown at them and people get to play more. It's a win-win... until the game gets unpopular again.

I rarely see lines at my nearest Ace machine. I make it to Round 1 usually twice a month, morning to mid-day, and am able to play for about 4 hours without interruption. Feels good, but also lonely.

Round1 also has other music games that can play a factor as to why they could not have a line for DDR.

Dave and Busters? There isn't much else unless you like redemption games and shooters. Most people that go for DDR literally go only for DDR. If there were other music games you'd never notice as much of a line.

It also depends on the individual DnB's or Round One. I never have to wait THAT long for a game of Ace at the Albany DnB's since it's a smaller DnB's and our community isn't that large, but a place like Times Square is going to have a pretty long wait time because it's a bigger store in in the middle of the classic tourist trap of the mostly highly populated area in the United States.
