I would actually appreciate it if they added some American licences, even if they have to remove some Japanese ones. It could definitely get more attention.
^
I'm thinking there's gonna be a big patch that will add around 15-20 new songs, with some of them being American licenses once it's officially released here. I'm totally calling that R1 is gonna have DDR A in their arcades the same time as D&B's does if we're going by this sentence:
Quote
"Dave & Buster’s informed us that the last container of DDR A was released from the Port of Los Angeles this morning headed to stores!"
I just have a hunch Konami is shipping all of the machines they could make for a simultaneous release... hopefully.

Dave n Busters is slower at putting stuff up than Round 1.
I give them about a week after Round 1 sets it up for people to play on.

The D&B I go to seems to set their games up immediately as soon as they can. It also already has Internet connectivity for some of their games (Mario Kart, for instance), so Ace should be quick to set up.I give them about a week after Round 1 sets it up for people to play on.
This is going off of seeing games not there one day and then being played the next. The tech says they get their games out as soon as possible instead of leaving them in the back. It could be just this D&B that does that, so who knows.
Also I doubt they will add American licenses. If they do, it'll be minimal and forgettable.

I'm really hoping for American licenses, but I would not put any money on it, as I don't find it wise to bet on something that has a probable chance of not happening.
Me? I'm just excited for the Konami Originals from DDR X2 to DDR A.

Watch them just cross over all the DDR 2010 license songs and call it good. That or take all the DDR X3 and DDR 2014 songs and call them "new".
Do we even know that there will be US exclusive songs? I know it's been said but I don't remember seeing anything official about it.

There hasn't been anything official regarding that. Just speculation.
I don't see it happening myself.

I'm not necessarily hoping for American licenses to fill in the gaps left by the removal of the Dancemania licenses nor them being exclusive (if they even exist); I'm hoping they lure people who have never played DDR before, or ones who haven't played it in a long time, into giving this new game a try. They can all be the worst pop songs ever for all we know, but if it gets people to swipe their cards on the machine and maybe even buy an eAmuse card, then they would have served their purpose.
I'm personally more curious to see if Japanese song titles are going to be translated, romanized, or not touched at all, since there's now a bunch of them since X2.
Guess we'll find out in 3 days.

First off, congrats to DDR A for coming to America this coming Tuesday! As they say, you can't spell USA without "A".
Anyway, I don't know if anyone noticed this (I didn't until today!), but I saw that when you're playing OT"P" in DDR A, the step zone flashes on the beat now (as opposed to right in between beats, like before).
Compare this... (DDR 2014)
...with this. (DDR A)
I guess for whatever reason, DDR 2014 started the song (as in "showing the HERE WE GO message") half a beat before the first step. At which point the step zone started flashing at the wrong times. And Konami seems to have learned from that. But now in DDR A,
-one beat before the first arrow, the "HERE WE GO" message appears, and
-half a beat before the first arrow, the screen filter (if you have that option on, of course) shows up.
-Good luck, have fun, don't die from the first arrow out. Especially on the 840 BPM speedup
Some people were complaining about how hard it was to time, and I don't know if it was because the step zone was screwing them over. In particular, the speedup at 1:40 in the first video (where the BPM goes 105-210-420-210) messed up people because that section before ran at 160 BPM. So unless you knew the song, you couldn't time that transition to save your life. Only now is Konami playing nice with us in that respect. That's just my observation on this for now.

That's actually pretty informative. Thanks for pointing that out! It's nice to see them fixing details like those.

If and when we find out the 'release' date for DDR A in North America, I will take a trip to Orlando's D&B and record a full songlist video, any other requests?

Yes, I have one: Can you report any DDR A machines that are in European countries like France, Spain & Italy? When they are found of course.

Let us know which songs are unlocked by default please. If for whatever reason New Century is available I need to prepare my body.

He... can't do that in Orlando, Florida.I'm going to say the songlist is probably just going to be https://remywiki.com/DanceDanceRevolution_A_Full_Song_List with no changes. After all, this was supposed to be over here in June, which means if anything was going to be added, it would have been added at that time.

Currently DDR A/Ace has no release date in any European country. There are no Round 1's or Dave & Buster locations over there, so for right now it is just North America.

Not necessarily. They could be delaying new licenses until the US version is released. Also, there could be US exclusive licenses (which would probably replace Japanese licenses, which isn't ideal but would help attract players).
Though you're probably right.

Besides Dancing Stage games pre-SuperNOVA and the Korean 3rdMIX games, no localizations of any DDR games have ever had exclusive licensed music, much less in the US. Why would they add them in now? Yes, it would be a good idea, but absolutely nothing implies that it's a possibility, and I'm pretty sure they would want all regions to get the same song list like it's always been. It we get music targeted at American audiences, chances are Japan will too.
Besides, even if they put in American licenses, chances are none of you will care for them or like them, just like with the Hottest Party games and all the US console games. Some people complained so much about those back then, yet now it's a priority?
