Pump videos are just .BMP files on the machine's hard drive, which the game either pans across the screen, or animates in real-time. They looked absolutely amazing, because the images were so crisp, wheras every other game at the time used compressed videos.

Watching Korean games (PIU/Technika) i see how they have A LOT more visual feeling than Japan (no just Bemani games).

Well, for me, I play a game because I enjoy playing it.
I don't care about shits like videos or visual effects as long as Those don't disturbing.

I miss the really old PIU games that usually had a crazy little story or collection of art with varying styles from song to song. The new videos are cool too, and keep really well with the uniqueness of the Pump series, but I miss the golden days sometimes. Even though DDR was more of a collage of random eye candy that a coherent story it was fun to watch, especially the old old ones from 2nd and 3rd and Solo.

I do like some of the new DDR videos, they're generally well constructed and worth watching. A thing called LOVE is a personal favourite. I wish Konami had stuck with formula that was used around 2005 with EXTREME 2/Max/STR!KE, but I guess that kind of content creation wasn't sitting well with their budget.

Afronova Primeval & Afronova Nonstop Megamix have BG videos from Extreme2 , why not Afronova ?

Paranoia have BG video from Extreme2, why not Paranoia KCET, Paranoia Rebirth ?

When you noticed that all Paranoia songs on Extreme JP has same generic BG videos except Paranoia Survivor & Survivor MAX.

In the past few versions, in regards to new Konami originals with videos, we had...

SuperNOVA2
6 new non-boss songs with videos (counting Baby's Tears and Trust)
and 3 boss songs with videos.

DDR X
3 new non-boss songs with videos (counting TimeHollow)
and 4 boss songs with videos.

So... I wouldn't be too hopeful for new exclusive videos. Have we even seen any in X2 US? I'm positive none of the boss songs songs had videos. And so far we haven't had any Konami originals with quality vocalists... so I'd be crossing my fingers for those first.

except for the jun songs... but I'm pretty sure they're just recycling verses by now.

I don't get why some of you guys are making such a big deal about BG videos. Unless you're really good at multitasking (watching the videos AND still doing well on a song), you're not going to notice it. Neither will most spectators, if you're lucky enough to even get spectators.

It's called preference.
I prefer songs with good bga's.
Something like Paranoia Survivor was decent.

Would I rather play with that video or would I rather play with a random dancer with a poor costume?
