How the hell am I gonna do this?

I've generated a pack for the Round 1 files. Also worth noting that Otenba So ⑨te! would not go into the category download do to the text, so you may have to download that on its own.

Ugh, tell me about it. The only songs I can think of that had any real significant impact on me are either not very steppable or I don't feel comfortable sharing the story. Or both. And I don't think saying "okay here's a song i like from a video game i like enjoyyyy" really counts as a significant impact.

Personally I would try stepping something that has to do with your childhood (similar to a theme from 2014, I think?). For instance, this song still rings positively and memorably to me because ever since I was three, I've always liked the PaRappa the Rapper franchise. It clicked with my toddler mind at the time and when I found out the anime existed, I got hooked on the intro's song (primarily having to do with the BPM and key signature, haha).

In a similar vain, this song is what made me discover Stepmania in late 2008 (because a simfile existed for it) and I still like it today.

That's just my limited take on things, though. In any case, I will step something different, so be prepared for that.

Otenba So ⑨te! was not included because ZIv doesn't like weird characters like ⑨. Try to keep it to standard English alphanumeric characters plus some special characters. Parentheses, exclamation marks, question marks, periods, and square brackets should all definitely work.

I will be making a pack of all the files, which will probably be released in a few minutes. Just need to find somewhere to upload it.

So first again this time, eh?


So this song got me through a pretty rough time during my final year in high school. I was pretty much at my lowest, mainly worried how I was going to f**k up everything I've done so far and not able to get the future I wanted. When Mark Johns released 2 tracks to give a taste to her Molino EP, I was hooked (particularly Before You). Ever since then it became one of my most played songs on my phone. Well technically I didn't get the required ATAR needed to go into UNSW's Fine Arts Degree, but I went to the next best thing. That is National Art School. Currently enjoying it so far : ) The song itself was more a reflection of the past and time to move on from it. I will say, this did end up with me having more appreciation for this kind of music.

This did intended to have a chart, but I decided just these 4 charts will do just fine.

5 years ago, i used to play this flash game called "Super Mario 63".
This song was used as the background music for both of Bowser's Traps and Bowser's Castle.
I loved that song. It kinda "introduced" me to drum 'n' bass.
So i stepped it.

@01angel (or pretty much anyone else that can do this) How do you attach .avi files as backgrounds? I was never able to get it to work, and now I have a great opportunity to learn how.

1. Put it in the song folder.
2. Change the #BGCHANGES in the SM file to look like this:

#BGCHANGES:0.000=file_name.avi=1.000=1=0=0=StretchNoLoop==CrossFade==,
99999=-nosongbg-=1.000=0=0=0 // don't automatically add -songbackground-

3. Make sure to change the file name according to your simfile title.
4. Change the underlined number above (0.000) to when you want the clip to start, in beats. If you want the clip to play 2 beats before beat 0, change that to -2.000.

The reason I chose this song is because it reminds me of the times when I was in kindergarten and I was able to make wonderful memories that would last forever during those years.
