Backyard Animals / Max Elto

BPM: 124
When I heard about the theme to start off for this contest, I decided to join in. I have ideas for which songs to step and I wasn't entirely surprised a Max Elto song hasn't been stepped yet on this site, so I chose to do this. I'll say the lighter difficulties are mainly stepping to the beat, the easiest one having a lot of holds.
Fun fact: They used to go under the name "Taped Rai" (which their EP is called) and now they're currently pursuing their solo careers as "Alex Aris" & "Tom Taped" respectively.

Hello, viewers of this thread. In the spirit of show and tell, I will be showing you and telling you about the file and the artist who created the song. Without further ado, allow me to get started on the first part of my show and tell!
Norma Sheffield is one of many Eurobeat artists who has been creating songs since the early 90s. She is attributed to composer Francesca Contini, and while it's plausible that she posed for the song covers, allegedly she hasn't actually sung these songs. Sheffield works under the A.beat-C label of Giancarlo Pasquini (Dave Rodgers) and Alberto Contini, with most of her songs being produced on 12" vinyl singles, with the exception of two albums: Sweet Heaven, an album on a compact disc, and Super Eurobeat Presents Norma Sheffield Special Collection, a compilation available digitally. Like most early Eurobeat, her (earlier) songs have simple, but groovy beats, with no heavy synthesizers that I imagine those averse to Eurobeat despise. Her voice (again, at least in the earlier songs) doesn't have a jarring accent either, but her lyrics can be a hit or miss in terms of grammar.
This leads me to my file...
I planned to make this file my submission for Round 1 of Tournament of Immortals 6, but I got scared by the positivity Spork's file received in the predictions thread, and this file was put back for the time being. (Retrospectively, maybe it would have been a good idea to submit this file instead of what I ended up submitting.) This file is a little old, though I massaged the more objectionable patterns, so I wouldn't suggest expecting a masterpiece, but still a fairly fun file. (The doubles :hea: is especially janky and has 16th crossovers!) Later on this week, I might replace the background/jacket with a version that moves the (It's) from the pupil of the eye to the body of text, 'For Your Eyes', so grab the file soon if you want these graphics.
Apologies for not saying much about the artist, but there isn't too much information lying around for Eurobeat artists, as far as I know. Stay tuned for part 2 of my show and tell, which will hopefully be more informative! :)

--but I just used a different instance in which the artist would show up in the Song field. So as of now, the answer to your question is no. With that being said, however, if the community would like to contest this rule and have it be changed or just forgotten completely, I'm willing to do so as long as a significant number of you speak up (this may want to be done via PM or something so we don't get this thread clogged up with. "Let chewi live and submit the file!! #Freechewi2013!!"; chewi I'm going to assume you'll be contesting this rule, so no need to PM me
).
I'm not contesting the rule, I was just asking for clarification. The answer is no. I chose other songs. Thanks.

DanceDanceRevolution Platinum is coming later this year.
The AVI was originally an H.265 MKV file, but due to ZIv requiring all videos to be AVIs it changed the extension. It should work in SM5 but may crash in older SM versions like 3.9 (but everyone should be on SM5 now anyway). If it crashes the game just remove the video.
Custom ZIP includes a 1080p video for high-end computers. Just overwrite the video in the simfile.
Edit: Updated to fix video.
7/10 Update: Fixed BGChange

I'm stuck with four artists to Show & Tell.
I'll give vague descriptions of each file, someone tell me which I should use...
1. Level 9 hip hop... from Belgium. You probably know who this is. Has mine-marked gimmicks.
2. Level 7 standard-fare techno from an up-and-coming artist. Just an average contest chart.
3. Level 7 alt rock from an up-and-coming artist. Has 12th rhythms and a whole lotta jumps. (Oh wait, it's really twisty too. Forgot that.)
4. Level 6 alt rock from one of my favorite bands. Uses freeze-forced doublesteps, andsome mine-marked footswitches.

I like the sound of these two. Techno music is usually good. But the 12th notes and jumps a sounds like it would make for a fun chart to play on pad.

round.1: Show & Tell
edit: updated samplestart for Not Tonight (Ladies Night Remix).
edit 2: updated bgchanges on It's All About Me (feat. Sisqó).

Updated. Changed the video extensions in the SM, SSC, and on the actual videos themselves. This makes it easy for people with SM5 to play the song with the video.
If you are using 3.9, one of two things should happen: either it will ignore the video (which is preferred) or crash because it's trying to load an unexpected video type. In the latter case, what you should do (besides switching to SM5) is delete the video.

Genre: Eurobeat
CD: Dancemania Delux 4
Length: 01:43

Rate scale: Classic/old DDR
Thanks to those people who gave me bad reputation points in less than 1 hour. I really like the fact that you actually remember me. Thank you.

There's already 20 files. It's THURSDAY.
Everyone best be voting next week, because there will be a lot of 0's if people don't use their 15 points wisely.
I'm kind of liking the 6-rated chart after removing footswitches, so in agreement with darkanine, I'm cutting the 9 for this week. Any more opinions are welcome, but for the sake of the thread it's best if they are PM'd.

I would like to know the people that are currently in the category (sorry if this is rude), just out of curiosity.

That's only available for people in the category... I'm not in the category.
On another note, I want to start playing through the files but I can only use wireless headphones that make the audio out of sync with my video and keyboard intervals (before you ask, yeah, I tried global offset syncing, how late my headphones are actually fluctuates so that's no good)... Hopefully I can get my votes in soon because at the pace things are going there's probably going to be 50-60 files.

Sorry, my bad
There are currently 37 co-workers and I will not say anything else because I'm new and do not know how things work here.

Oh I thought only I could see all the co-workers in the category. Well in that case, there's really no point to have a list in the first post. That's a time saver. Also I have you in the category, so you should be able to see the list now.

With 20 files already submitted and it is only Thursday, I would highly suggest playing many of the files now and rating them to keep track of which ones you like more. Playing 50 or more files in one week is not easy, and there is a great chance of there being that many.
Also I have a question about the theme. Could I submit a song which uses the artist's current alias while songs in the database only use the same artist's old alias?
Ex: Song Song - Dave Diablo
Song in Database: Tracky Track - Diablo

UGH I was hoping we wouldn't run into this issue this week.
My response to your question, darkanine, is simply to use your best judgement, because it is technically your call. Remember, though, that the objective here is to introduce the community to new artists. More often than not, a different alias from an artist means a different side of their work, so in that case, I would say go for it. If you don't believe that is the case, however, I would maybe re-consider submitting. But again, seeing as though I did not specify rules about aliases when the theme was announced, you're the one that's gotta make that executive decision.

Well, since it was only one song and it was 5 years ago, I'll probably submit it. The artist's music has changed a lot since then, and I really want to show off his new music.
