if roxor wasnt so fucking stupid to sell their game as a ddr machine upgrade and would have done dedicabs from the beginning, we would still have ITG.

Finally, you’re the first person I’ve seen on any board that knows what he’s talking about on ITG getting slammed. Every where I go it’s “Konami is suing Roxor because it’s a rip off”.

Yeah, it's probably in an even deader town with old people. Neutral

Haha, I was wondering why they chose Jersey Gardens Mall for the location test.. There's NOBODY playing it. One other person played it the whole day I was there, and he was there to test it too. It was a nice mall, but the location was separated from the mall and it got no attention.

Weird.

They should have put the test in the arcade that's already ther. Either that, or somewhere in the middle of the mall.

Or in GameWorks where people hog SuperNOVA 1! That would have gotten so much attention 1 or 2 buttons would have been damaged or something.

Going off topic a little..

Why is Konami waiting so long to release SuperNOVA2 here in the US? It's already pretty much done (although the SN2 at Jersey Gardens Mall was a Japanese beta), they just need to get E-Amuse ready. I've been wondering, maybe they're waiting cause E-Amuse isn't going to happen, they just want to stall it until all the unlocks are out in Japan, then release the SuperNOVA2 cabinets here.

Just another stupid thought Roll Eyes Gotta keep this thread going somehow!

Like I've said many times before, 2008 is not a date that is set in stone. It was set by a Betson employee in regards to a single e-mail, and used very vague language.

If it is indeed delayed that long, I would imagine it had something to do with e-Amuse. Maybe an offline unlock system since most arcades in the US do not have internet, unlike in Japan.

P.S. I hope we don't have to wait until the 26th for more info~~

dont get me wrong, i do know the grounds for the lawsuit, but you would have to be retarded to think that konami didnt sue just because of the success of the game.

if it would have flopped like so many other dance games have, they wouldnt have given two shits about ITG. when ITG2 came out and was a huge success, then the PS2 version came out, konami saw the threat in it and took all the things roxor did wrong and started the lawsuit.

konami is a money making corperation, they arent going to waste money suing a company who makes a flop game that isnt competition for their dance game. they also arent going to lose money to the competition because their game was a success.

the biggest part of the lawsuit is that konami holds a copyright on the cabinet itself, and roxor sold their game as an upgrade to it. konami also refered to ITG as an "inferior product" and "deceptive"(people see it in a DDR cabinet and think its konami's game), which isnt true.

1- inferior is an opinion. the game sells as well as DDR and in some areas is mroe popular, therefore not inferior.

2- the game comes with roxor and ITG decals. if an arcade doesnt put those on, that isnt roxor's fault. roxor cant sue konami because my arcade upgraded from extreme to ITG to ITG2 to SN and our SN cabinet has ITG stickers on it, can they? lame argument with deceptive.

there were a lot of flaws with the lawsuit IMO, but its indisputable that roxor violated the copyright on the cabnet.

sorry for derailing the thread, but despite being completely right, i think konami was wrong for several reasons(if that makes sense).

Just an idle thought, but how popuplar is DDR in Japan nowadays? And how much attention is the machine getting?

I've heard that DDR has gotten more popular in Japan again with the release of SuperNOVA, but it's still not as popular as Konami's real money-makers in the Bemani division, Beatmania IIDX and Pop'n Music.
Keep clear... fat man dancing! Seventeen stone and grooving with the best of them Smile

Yeah, noone tried to get a video of the SN2 location test, but there were several videos of the DJ TROOPERS test. But yeah, seeing some of the videos on YouTube, I'd say DDR is getting a bit more popular there.

That’s probably it. But it shouldn’t take that long to do. I got a felling that something big is going to be on the US SN2.;)

They better not jack up and make the boss songs only by e-Amuse because I’m not waiting it tell SN3 or whatever it’s going to be just to play TRIP MACHINE PhoeniX. Evil

Also, I don’t see why they release an upgrade to SN1 that well unlock the boss song. Confused

An offline lock system, or possibly all of the songs just being unlocked form the beginning would be the best thing that's ever happened. Everything would be jam-packed into the machine from the beginning, living up to it's name, and everything would be organized without arcades having to download stuff. What I would be afraid of is if an arcade near me had eAMUSE, they wouldn't download new stuff on time.

AFAIK, e-Amuse updates download automatically, as long as the machine is online.

Oh. That's interesting. So, what would happen if the machine downloaded automatically, and the arcade wanted it to be how it was before it was downloaded?! Tongue

Don't know why they would want to do that...but I'm sure there's a way to factory restore the machine.

Whatever. I'm just thinking about random stupid things because I'm waiting on news for SN2. When do you think there'll be more news? I'm also looking forward to the CS release. And knowing I have a $20 Best Buy gift card, I'll only have to pay $20 for the game! 8)

I would assume that we're almost certainly getting some more info on the 26th. Though I would say there's a good chance of some new stuff coming out before then. For all this waiting, I'm hoping that we'll get more than song/course unlocks. That's wishful thinking though.

every arcade i go to has internet, all those racing games and what not are connected, so i HIGHLY doubt that the SN2 delay is because arcades cant get e-amuse.

Also, how do you do the 2 dots over the E and the backwards R for Terra? I know how to do Honey ♂ Punch by holding down Alt and pressing 11 and letting go of Alt. How do you spell Terra the right way?

Umm, actually not. The only way to let the machine "search" for a new update, you have to off & on the power button inside the machine (coin slot area)

Using the power plug outside will never update the machine.
This has been tested before when i'm trying to get the new update from 2007071100 to 2007081000 on 3 machines =)

As for the already known "Planet" song titles & etc, it's already on the machine itself awaiting for Konami, thru the e-AMUSEMENT to unlock. Hehe~
