Yeah this one was pretty tough, but fortunately even for I managed to sneak it under 300 steps. I've been meaning to step this song for a while and with every song this week going to be relatively lower in notecounts, now was a good time to do it.

Never said anything about making a super difficult chart. Was talking about making a chart harder with less steps than an easier chart of the same simfile. I could be talking about any difficulty level here.

A Beginner 3 chart can have more notes than a Basic 5 and still be easier. That's the point I'm trying to make.

Borderline 13-14. 300 steps was a good challenge to trim out the extras and focus on the core rhythms.

btw I think we should format the section names as "Week 01 - MAX 300" instead. It'll keep the category neatly sorted in chronological order.

No, that's when submissions are open for the first file. You have until same time next week to submit a file for this first week's theme.

Previous summer contests didn't do this, and in my opinion there's more room for error that way. However, I'll be putting the download packs at the top in chronological order. Also that system may work now but with the VIP weeks it might run into some complications. So for now what's important is that they're all uniform and having just the theme title makes that easier.

INFO: Might as well get my yearly Nekomata song out of the way. Anyway I love the idea of the theme, something to ease us into the contest before we go hard. Anyway, I thought this soft sounding song would be great for a "starting out" song for the contest. Enjoy one of the lesser known and imo better Nekomata Master songs in CALL.

Are shock arrows (4 mines) also considered a step or is it exclusively the 4 arrows? SAs are counted as part of the combo in the official DDR.

I'm gonna say yes, since that's like a step. I should've thought this theme through a little better lol. Let's just go with MAX 300 of any object that comes down the lane that you react to.

I haven't entered one of these contests in over 10 years. Did my best to get the x-ratings right. Hope you enjoy.

Used the "Week 01 - MAX 300" section convention instead. Easier to sort chronologically that way.
