There was a lot more to the Konami and Roxor thing than that, but the was mostly the ps2 version of in the groove that pushed the lawsuit. But it was almost definitely the release and huge popularity of in the groove that got supernova released, extreme was supposed to be the last game in the series from what was implied at the time. I still remember a trade show where they had signs up saying that they had conversion kits for in the groove machines available to put supernova in them back in the day, which was odd considering deficabs weren’t a thing yet so it was only old ddr machines in the first place!

In The Groove was good for the dance game community
DDR was pretty much dead in arcades when ITG became popular, it's too bad Konami used the opportunity to kill ITG and capitalize on its popularity.
Roxor was kinda asking for it though

I thought it was the DDR conversion cabinets that pushed Konami to create a lawsuit against them.
