They should have either introduced that rule OR made the challenge course harder. Not both. What are Konami playing at?

Huh? They introduced that rule in SuperNOVA2.

I think that's what ddr_ray is saying.

Well, they could have at least kept the BOSS RUSH course the same difficulty of SN1s if they did that...

Really? In SN1 I swear there were times you got +2 lives depending on the course.

I think the lives in SN1 were scripted rather than added on a per stage basis...

I never played Challenge on an SN AC, so I wouldn't know...I'm more of a non-stop fan...

Anyways, i don't miss the combo much, so i can't be very sure =x
But so far, what i got for most of the Challenge course on SN1, it's the same 2 stage +1 system, like SN2 AC now.

You get a life after every other stage, as ddr_ray said. You get one life after the first, one after the third, one after the fifth, so on.

It would make it easier if it was second but, yeah, that's how it works.

that would explain why naoki feat paula terry didnt give me the same health back that it does on extreme the one time i played it on SN1.

Replace the last line with this, and we may have the entire heavy chart:
46824682
46284628
469000B0
00100000
00A!A00000
0000000A
It's just a logical guess, though. And I'm not sure if I got the gap between the last two notes right.

8th crossovers sounds a bit too impossible to me at 400BPM. And the last 2 notes were not right.

Imagine if the challenge chart is actually a harder version of HDVO, 400BPM.. =p

There weren't any crossovers in that, but oh well. Here's a slightly more refined version of what I posted:
46824628
46824628
46800010
00B00000
A!A0000000
00000000
00000000
0000000A
Something tells me the freeze is a lot longer.

It's amusing how that happens so often. And also I see that the max BPM is 800, rather 805. What a pain in the ass. :-/
