Thank you for that post, Pumpkinetics. Really explained what made Drill Courses different from standard courses, other than that they are a test of stamina and skill. (links to Pumpkinetics' post)

@mageman17 That Philip Webb actually has a website: www.philipwebb.net
He's a tenor opera singer, so I definitely think that's him.

Courses in X2:
Courses chosen in "course mode" work as mentioned above. Courses with 5 stages all gain the use of a full life bar, while courses with 6 songs (such as From IIDX or Boss Rush X2) or 7 songs (the only example being Vs Replicant) receive an 8-segmented battery under their normal difficulty, and a 4 segmented battery under their "difficult" difficulty. Unlike DDR Max and Extreme where the battery regenerated depeding on the difficulty of the song or course, and Supernova 1 and 2 where the battery only regenerated 1 segment at the end of every odd-numbered stage, the DDR X2 battery regenerates 1 segment after every stage, regardless of difficulty, up to the maximum number of segments as declared above.
Courses chosen in "dance drill mode" all have 4 stages of similar difficulty, and a lifebar is used as the gauge. However, it reacts differently to normal play. When the game begins, the lifebar is completely full (as opposed to half full). If steps are missed it will deplete at the usual rate, however, combos will refill the bar much more slowly. It's possible to have a 100 step combo with the dance drill lifebar only halfway to full. As with other courses, the lifebar does not refill between stages. As such, dance drills end up being about accuracy as much as stamina.

X and X2 are also the first time in which you can play a Challenge style course in the arcade AND use arrow options to your liking.

Ah! Very good point! And of course, DDR X2 was the first time one could change their scrolling speed for each song in a course. For some people, this is a lifesaver. (Especially compared to some DDR X "gems" such as the course that starts on Bag and ends on Max 300)

More interesting info!
Can Be Real's music video (DDR Extreme 2) is nearly identical to Baile La Samba's (DDR Supernova) except for 1/3rd of the song.

Yeah, DDR STRIKE's new song music videos are comprised of components of other videos from EXTREME 2. MAX 300 (Super-Max-Me-Mix)'s video is BURNIN' THE FLOOR mashed with INSERTiON (Machine Gun Kelly Mix).

I always thought that the weirdest re-use of a BG video in that game was using Spin Spin Sugar's for Route 80s.

It looks like the Monkey Punk monkey is used in SEDUCTION's BG too.

That's not a real theater. It's a commercial. Seriously.
I've seen it a few times myself though and was quite surprised to see an X2 in a Sprint commercial. I couldn't tell what song was being "played" but the guy wasn't even hitting the arrows yet the game was showing MARVELOUS!!'s and PERFECT's

I've seen that one too, it seems like a pretty hard chart he's playing (or else they just sped up the speed, which they do sometimes) and he's just standing there and getting a full combo.

Well we've established it's fake because there's no way he'd be doing that on a US X2. The speed is definitely up but I think it's still a fairly difficult looking chart.

Why does it matter anyhow? Do you plan on going on a road trip to visit some random theater just to play on an X2 machine, when US X2's are awful.
