Algorithm is not a fun song to play. At all lol. It definitely feels up there with EDSM and Tribe in the "Are you absolutely sure you meant 13" category. Still a banger though.



HOLY FUCKING SHIT DDR MEGAMIX YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. Super stoked about this. (And Love Shine, I guess). I'm really hoping this is a sign that they got Naoki back for DDR's 20th anniversary.

If DDR MEGAMIX is gonna be on DDR A, then that's gonna be the longest song to play on DDR. Unless they shorten it...

Are you talking just this mix, or the totality of DDR? I am asking because DDR MEGAMIX is like two-and-a-half minutes, and the Xmixes are north of three minutes. Xmix 4 (Linear Momentum) is almost four minutes long. Even the 5thMIX long versions are longer than DDR MEGAMIX.

Weren't those songs removed?

Also I completely forgot about the Xmix series and the long versions from DDR 5thMIX so thanks for the reminder.

I never want to reach a point in my life where I see content added to one of my favourite games and think "well, any content is fine" instead of "I hope it's good content and not bad/mediocre content"

DDR MEGAMIX makes sense given 20 years of DDR. Contains a lot of commonly played tracks inside it.

Love Shine remix is probably "popular" in the sense that the original is still played enough by casuals and this is the best way to appeal to both them and other players by giving it more modern charts. I expect the Difficults for it to be akin to the Experts from the originals, but it could be anything really.

Either way, pretty excited to see these two get added.

Also yeah, if you don't like specific content updates that is fine, but there are people that most certainly will find them good. I never did enjoy Love You More to the point where I haven't played it yet, but there are others I know that love it a lot.

I mean, is it really wrong to want updates to a game you like to be good?

Well yeah, you'd want updates to be good in your own opinion naturally. However, getting updates (and especially the amount we have been getting) at all is good too. Either option is certainly better than the incessant "DDR is dead, waaah waah" whining that takes place when the game doesn't get an update in a month.

Or the whole "Dance Rush is replacing DDR" shit from a few months ago that turned out to be 100% baseless

I don't get why they didn't add DDR MEGAMIX sooner (not complaining btw). It feels overdue, quite frankly. That would have been an appropriate thing to include in a mix like DDR X, whose whole premise was to celebrate the longevity of DDR and bring back the nostalgia of previous mixes with their X-Specials. But I'm super curious to see how they'll step this. Will they go the way of PRANA+REVOLUTIONARY ADDICT (U1 DJ Mix), Starlight Fantasia (Endorphins Mix), and Chronos (walk with you remix) by slapping together new steps w/o referencing the original charts at all, or actually follow each song's OG steps? I guess we'll see.

But anyways, it's weird how a song like DDR MEGAMIX doesn't make it into DDR until years after it was released in Pop'n. Like, Konami, what? Why did you compose an amazingly put-together DDR tribute song in Pop'n and not, I dunno, DDR?

At the time when DDR MEGAMIX was released in pop'n 10, DDR was already on its hiatus post-EXTREME.

IIRC it was made because pop'n players asked for DDR/NAOKI songs to be added to pop'n back then, when pop'n barely had any DDR crossovers.

While Chronos (walk with you remix) has steps that are entirely new (because the song itself is actually very different from the original Chronos), the two fusion songs from 2014 you mentioned actually do have partial references to their respective originals. Maybe they could have been executed better, as they seemed to just add extra notes in the middle of the existing steps.
