I think Konami region locking IN BETWEEN isn't as random as it seems. It might have to deal with JASRAC (more specficially, Mayumi Morinaga's involvement in the song, since she's not an in-house artist). Apparently it's also the reason why several artists have yet to appear in INFINITAS: Keiichi Ueno, Y&Co., and PRASTIK DANCEFLOOR, among others.

Now this is just wishful thinking here, but a name like IN BETWEEN could possibly hint at a new arcade release, especially since the top kanji of the announcement poster says "start of a new chapter." Basically, the song is released in between the end of DDR A and the beginning of DDR 🅱️, or something like that.

To be fair though, wouldn't mind seeing an append release like DDR A+ or something along those lines.

The DDR A US marquee has a JASRAC logo on it, and there are JASRAC licenses available to the US. Also, unless ARM isn't under the JASRAC label, wouldn't this have stopped Come to Life from appearing on US machines?

The Challenge charts will be available globally, it's just IN BETWEEN that seems to be Japan-only for now, which is kind of weird.

The post doesn't mention MDX:U (America) region. Those regions are Japan, Asia, Korea, and Philippines respectively.

They've specifically left out MDX:U before and it meant exactly what everyone is saying, that America doesn't get the content. There's a definite non-zero chance that America is getting the good ol Konami treatment. The only sign that points to it being a typo is that US IPs aren't blocked from seeing the update page, but they've forgot to do that before.

Just wait until Wednesday night for confirmation, unless they care about DDR enough to actually change the page

Hmm... would certainly suck to not get the new song here in the US, especially since it's an LED song and not some touhou thing. But if we don't, shit happens. Kicking up a stink on some music game forum that's not even that active nowadays isn't going to change anything.

Not every artist has their works under JASRAC copyright. For example, the foreign commissions from Resort Anthem (Let The Track Flow, HARDCORE MANIA, etc.) are not registered under JASRAC, It's a basis by basis scenario. Every in-house artist songs like Mighty Guy have been registered under JASRAC in the past.

My brother thinks the absence of IN BETWEEN on US machines is just a typo on the official site, but knowing Konami, I highly doubt it.

CHALLENGE charts is unavailable in MDX:U:y:A:~ versions

Remember update to [MDX:x:y:A:2018060500] for install "IN BETWEEN" as EXTRA STAGE LV2, challenge charts and bug fixes.

The official website has since fixed IN BETWEEN's status to [MDX:*:*:*:2018060500]. So we ARE getting it now. Huzzah.
