ITG hands are fun because you don't have to dive down quickly to hit them =)

says a man thats clearly never played ITG in his life.

disconnected disco expert, while tha rekkid spins expert, energizer expert, and bend your mind expert are all doubles charts that give you ZERO chance to get ready for hands or transition out of them into standing, you just have to know they are there and play accordingly.

i'm sure there are examples on singles too, but since i dont like the vast majority of the cookie cutter expert charts i rarely play singles.

all of them EXCEPT for energizer expert give you ample time to hit their hands, i should know ive passed them all, you have to be aware hands are coming ill admit, but thats exactly the same concept as knowing about a bpm change coming up , its not going to fail you outright if you dont know about it , but it'll dent your life whilst you adapt to it!

...I cant believe i just DEFENDED In The Grooves Doubles Charts... *Kills self*

i've starred BYM, and i still think the hands come up pretty quick(not the quads between both pads, but the freezes where you "gallop" with your hands).

while tha rekkid spins i've also starred and i think its pretty balls that it wants you to walk across the pads to the next note while you're bending over to hit a hand.

disconnected disco is just stupid, and while you're holding the hands already you have time to get to them but the initial transition to them is quick.

and that (bolded) is why we play slower speed mods on doubles mode, folks!

and that (bolded) is what happens when you assume everyone else has to play doubles slower than they do singles, folks!

"I'm honestly pissed off."
I like n00b_saib0t because he has similar views to me.
A single beat to go down for a hand when both feet are holding freezes is fine, though it is kinda quick. It's really too quick for anything above 200 bpm. Bar players probably feel differently, because they have to spend extra time letting go of the bar with at least one hand.
For hands where a foot and a hand half to hit at the same time, there isn't really a good amount of time to give people to prepare. Most ITG players play on 4x, or 3x if they can't read above 700 bpm. So they don't have much more than a beat to react anyway, and a single beat isn't enough to prepare for it. It's as bad as putting a stop in for sightreading purposes. Really, when I step something and feel the need to emphasize with a jump hand, I expect it to be bracketed, and step accordingly.

n00b_saib0t is also right about the speed people read doubles at. When I started out on doubles, sure, I had to use a slower speed mod, but now the difference between the two is rather small, and more determined by the note density. I play Tribal Style on 4x 40% tiny on both doubles and singles.

I played a chart to Maria on friday that had a lot of hands.

I almost got a pfc video of super samurai last night. I did pfc it and i was taking a video, however, my camera died half way through the song Sad

Also, i think its kinda weird but even though I have access now to those new DDR X machine, I still prefer to play on the upgrade SN machines.

I notice there is some small lag delay in the case of getting perfects and greats that show up on the screen. I do a lot better on the upgrades.

How are the pads compared to an upgraded machine?

pads are much nicer. They are raised a little to fit the platform. And they use flat headed screws at the brackets. The feel it about the same to a dedicated ITG 2 machine in my exerience.

Machine is amazing. You really have to see it in person to see how big it really it. I saw it many times in pictures but was like omg when i saw it in real life.

like i said, machine is great but I find it easier to score higher on the upgrade. This is probably in my case cause i've played the upgrage almost 7 months before i tried this one so im not used to it yet.

Im not gonna argue or debate about it but if you want me to be honest ive 99'd while the rekkid spins with 6 excellents on doubles (Which coincendentally puts me in the top 5 on groovestats but im trying to quad it) , ive 98'd bend your mind due to a few dropped holds (Im not so good at supporting hands in the long run) and ive starred disconnected disco (although no comment on this personally X_X). Ive scraped a pass on energizer. I play them all on 4x with the exception of energizer with i play on 2.5x hallway. I havent memorized the charts, i just have a fairly good idea WHEN the hands are and im just good enough at reading it.

tl;dr. Some people are just better at reacting than others, personal opinions/skill/learning ability apply here so no argument can be realistically justified. Also energizer is still crap and the hands in it arent MEANT To be hit with your hands... as far as i know and if they are then yes that is the most retarded thing ever thank you whoever wrote that chart.

back on topic, going to at some point next month check the east coast for machines now its been officially released here, ill let you know when i go and what i find

Hey guise, BemaniStyle is looking for opinions on the North American DDR X cabinets. The feedback will be sent to KOJ, so this is a great chance to have your voice heard in the matter. If you've played the North American cabinets, go let them know your impressions!

Wait, we really get to voice feedback this time?! What!? This is incredible! Maybe we won't get such bad cabinets... next year...

Not really. Konami aren't asking anyone for feedback, but Eddie is in a position to communicate with KoJ, and explain to them what the american players are complaining about. He's asking for well-articulated and detailed explanations of the problems, and multiple examples of each. He isn't going to send any feature requests, or unhelpful comments, which is pretty much all he seems to get on his message board :{

Wrote my review of the machine at BMS. I really hope they listen, as the machine has potential to be the best DDR experience ever but is a catastrophe as it is now.

Just to make it clear, this feedback likely won't have much impact on X; rather, it'll be considered for future arcade releases in North America. But, who knows, maybe a DanceDanceRevolution Miracle™ will occur.

That's why there are many videos on different songs at slow speed. It's very unlikely that he memorized all of those charts, especially if he AAA'd bag on 1x.
IIDX Rank: SP 九段 (7/8)/ DP 七段 (5/8); 1P Side player
SP 11* Clears: 132/150 (88.00%); 12* Clears: 23/96 (23.96%)
Has access to CS 9th-EMP+PB+US, uses extended KOCs.

lol if you seriously think KK went though all the trouble to memorize a few charts.

kk is probably the best slow reader in the world. this is my opinion after living with him these days.
