Can you clarify whether the Black Rose Garden song was a 10 on the PS2 game, or the Wii game? In other words, on the old scale or the new scale.
Uhh...

From eddie:
I confirmed that the ps2 version is using the 1-20 scale before I left but didn't tweet because my phone was dying. I compared against the wii version. The 7's in the wii game were 9's on the ps2 one. I'll have a full difficulty listing for both titles when I get home.

Well at the time remember that we thought that song wasn't on the Wii version.

I'm pretty sure he mentioned it was absent in the wii version at this time, for some reason, meaning it was a 10 on the 1-20 scale.

The license list looks good. Konami brings another one-hit wonder like "Ice Ice Baby" and Disturbia!!!
Can't wait to hear "A Brighter Day"!!

Ok so from what few screens I've seen, it seem that each system uses their latest main line interface (PS2 -> X, Wii -> HP2). I'm going to go out on a limb and say that this is temporary and that the final product will look the same on all systems.

Very rare chance of seeing any BeForU stuff to be honest. As Riyu Kosaka's content recently got axed in IIDX17 SIRIUS.

I agree. Love Shine and Himawari were removed in IIDX 17.

"ARR JOO LEADY??" |
^.^ You guys have never seen a beta test before, or something?
They just plug some new stages into the older mixes' interface (hence the inconsistent dancers), probably because they're going for feedback on synching and present stepchart design for the most part. I'm sure that if this is the same title released across all platforms, that for one, the interface will look considerably different (EDIT: from current builds, not from each other); and two, the tracklists will be pretty much universal. You don't see Rock Band 2 or Guitar Hero: WT with three unique songs on each system do you?
And as for the finished engine, I'm sure they'll all look pretty much similar. You'll probably catch a peculiarity or two in each version; nobody's perfect after all (JP PS2 Extreme != AC Extreme, for instance), but for the most part, it looks like one game being licensed, developed, and distributed for all systems. Finally. Also, remember how many people were screeching for Heaven is a '57 an Sweet Sweet v Magic in USA Extreme, and where they went? Tracklists, and even entire interfaces (SuperNOVA beta to final, perfect example) -are- subject to change, with or without rhyme or reason.
I would love to get/have/offer an impression of this new version, but I haven't seen it yet. *shrugs* But my guess is that we should expect to see a step towards rap/hip-hop, because that's what's hot right now. Hopefully, the Expert stepchart design for a fair number of songs will be complex enough to accomodate serious players (the ones in Ultramix 3 like Alphabet Aerobics and Walk This Way are a good example of this), and I wouldn't mind seeing charts like Slip Out's put to music like that too, just a little thicker on the voltage/jumping... maybe something like that, put together with the i feel... and Tomorrow Perfume Mission Mode charts, for instance.
Maybe two or three licenses in the 13-14/20 range, and eight-to-ten around 11-12/20; the rest being in the 8-10/20 range is totally acceptable. I find that, as a long term player, the "Exorbitant" range usually produces the most fun and replayable stepcharts, and the best variety thereof, while also being friendly-enough paced to produce reasonable Basic/Trick charts for. And let's face it, there's a LOT of people that are NOT new to DDR, especially after schools have featured it for what, 3-4 years now? And you do need *some* stamina-zappers, still; not to mention the logical "bridge" to the boss songs. You can always play older boss songs in arcades, but not necessarily so in a new version like this (depending on your system of choice... try playing a MAX 300, DROP OUT, or AFRONOVA equivalent on any DDR Universe or HP game... it ain't happening).
Oh yeah. I really want to hear that new BRG song!

They honestly need to fire whoever does the marketing for DDR and hire someone else. Every single DDR release is proceeded by "packed with smash hits", "hits from over the past (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) decade(s)", "turn your home into the ultimate dance club experience", "innovative new modes for pros and beginners". Seriously, there hasn't been any new modes added to DDR since Extreme 2 with survival mode (correct me if I'm wrong). And they always "improve work out mode". really? come on, enter your calories and set a course list. There's not much else you can do with work out mode. Hopefully this next DDR does have real new modes. Dukamok seems to indicate that we'll want to know more about said new modes so maybe we can expect something fresh.

True, that.
I mean, what "ultimate dance club experience" doesn't feature any maypoles or cages these days? Really. XD Maybe it'll even come with a strobe light.
"It's just like the older games, but bigger!" would probably generate more positive attention, if you ask me.
And since it's all one big, long word now, are we just going to start calling it "D?"

I come back to this. Long story short:
I'm really liking the atm licenses. I'd hear fireworks if I was online at the time.
I'm looking forward to the new PS2 interface based on the warning screen.
And I'm still waiting for what the PS3 interface would look like (come to think of it, didn't I hear somewhere that DDR X for Europe was going to be on the PS3, if it ever gets released, maybe they can get feedback on how the game is running so they might be able to fix it for the PS3 version of this game).
EDIT: I'll just have to know tomorrow. I'm gonna hit the sack soon.

I doubt we'll get it on PS3 either.
