ANYWAAAAAYS, congrats to all the winners and thanks to everyone who supported my files! To be frank, Invisible Lover did much worse than I had expected it to but I'm neither disappointed nor feeling like a sore loser. Good game, everyone! See you all next year!

First of all, thank you everyone that voted for my simfiles that got me to VIP. Things kind of fell apart for me last year around this time, so it was a goal of mine to get back into VIP and put on a showcase to make up for it. The chart I really try to make something like what I did with Super Rush last year, also done by kors k. Enjoy.

In case anyone was worried I wouldn't submit anything for the VIP room having been inactive for most of the contest, have no fear. I probably won't submit any K-pop this time around, though, just some cool bangers that I came across recently, this time with another one of my favorites from PIU Prime 2.

I didn't have any ideas that I wanted to go with and I've had a pretty stressful week. Wanted to do something a bit more unique (?) instead of trying to play it safe.

So now that I don't have to worry about creating magnum opus, I wanted to throw something a little more weirder (in song choice) out there, especially after ddrstepper brought up points of:


I was suggested this all the way back in Battle Royale 2017 (where I ended up wasting a slot in Round 2 X_X) but thought it was too risky, who would vote for a 7 or 8?

I shouldn't really worry about that too much. Maybe I shouldn't even do the elimination contests as I don't think I'd make a good Summer Contest host anyway, so... does it matter?

I like to think of this as the sequel to ACTIVATION but the song is more appealing (from a musical viewpoint) and there isn't that much twisting here. No gimmicks this time. I'm pretty satisfied with this. If you aren't, rest assured my next VIP submission should be more to your tastes. Perhaps.

Submitting this for Round 1 wasn't the plan. I was hoping to save this for Round 3 if anything, just because I imagined this would be my riskiest submission all season. That said, depr*ssion kinda did its thing this week, rendering me useless at most things, including making simfiles. Come the end of the week, and the only file I have somewhat prepared is Sonatine. Seeing as though time was running out, I figured it was in my best interest to just go forward and submit this.

- are obviously missing, and is by no means my favorite chart that I've stepped, and while I'm aware I don't have to submit something for every difficulty, I still feel guilty for not being able to get those done/polished to my liking. That said, the only thing bringing me any sort of solace is the result of the chart. Honestly, I could go on a spiel longer than the one I went on re:Egoist, but the abridged version of it is: Sonatine, while technically a ballad, is very dramatic and complex in its musicality, therefore I stepped to reflect that. Lots of pitch relevancy here.

Anyway, hopefully I snap out of this funk before next week's deadline. I almost just didn't submit because I wasn't too thrilled about submitting a file that wasn't "100%" ready, but I would have felt even worse not submitting considering steppers who probably would have submitted couldn't make it into VIP. Even if it's not up to my standards, I hope you all find some sort of enjoyment from this submission.

This song is about having an optimistic outlook on life and being ready to face the future. The instrumentation is cheerful to suit the song. The song is in Indonesian and I adore the way they sing.

There are scrolls (and like 2 rolls but eh), so SM5 is recommended. I feel that scrolls fit this song really well, although that does mean going from 1× to 4× scroll speed in 4 seconds. I'm about to find out whether or not this is a good idea.
Watch out for the variable tempo change at the end. I hope this file puts a smile on your face!

I was going to upload this for [Covered Up] but was told it did not count as a cover so into the backburner it went. Also why I did not have a simfile that week as well. I'm glad this file did get to see the light of day in this contest.

Uh... I forgot to promote my VIP Room Round 1 entry until now... So here it is!
Anyway, my school has started since about 2 weeks ago, so I think I got less time to step my VIP entry, but hey, I think I got some song that I almost done to step for the next round.

This week has been a bit odd for me. Stressed a lot about lack of a job for nearly two and a half months only to get an email stating I got a job I started Wednesday. A lack of a proper sleep schedule these past few months has hurt figuring out how to manage my time this week.

This entire contest I've been making new content entirely every week for each submission. I could not find something I wanted to step from scratch given all the other things that happened this week so I took something I had sitting around and tweaked it a bit. While I wanted to go with fresh content every week (to me; nobody will notice I have had this file sitting on my computer for over half a year), I just could not find the time nor song to do that with here.

The 8 is probably somewhere in the 8/9 range depending on the person. X-Scale probably makes more sense for this honestly.

Time to get fit!
