Where's Naoki and Jun when you need them? (Yes, I know what happened to them.) It's almost 20 years now, and WE NEED THEM NOW if there will be a proper celebration and to reminisce the good ol' days.

Naoki and Jun? I know they both make spectacular songs (reminisces back to X3 and back), but do they have another relationship?
Also, what happened? Now that you mention this, can I know what happened to them?

Nothing happened in regards to their relationship as co-workers pretty much, they both though left Konami and headed to Capcom to make CrossBeats.

I wonder why... maybe because of Konami's terrible management?

i doubt there'll be a huge celebration like X, and just because it's the 20th anniversary doesnt mean jun and NAOKI have to come back. Be reasonable.

This. And be respectful of their decision to leave, it's nothing against the games, I'm sure they enjoyed producing music for games that the players loved, but everyone moves onto other things.

The sad thing is that Naoki reminisces a lot about his time working with Konami on his Facebook page. I think he'd be willing to make another song for the 20th anniversary, although his relationship with the company seems like it's pretty much over.

I hope next mix, konami won't try to make DDR like IIDX/SDVX, DDR need it's own identity, and have a better update schedule. Of course, this is Konami we're talking about.

I believe that the 20th Anniversary will be the first song with
20

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned or not, but Europe's gonna get DDR A in Spring 2018!
I expect an Uh La La La revival, complete with triple-arrow to celebrate the release, regardless if we get a new mix by then.
CrossBeats REV seems to be the closest we're gonna get to a 20th anniversary bru-ha-ha in terms of the OG artists making new material. :/(Not that it'd matter because their names would probably be censored with "Bemani Sound Team" anyway)

Yeah, it was announced a while back. With an asking price to drive away the three arcades that were interested in getting one in the first place.

I've always been of the opinion that DDR either needs to be less like SDVX (theme-wise, more actual dance music, etc.) or it has to be more like SDVX (as in more content, wider range of song artists, crediting the step-artists (why is SDVX the only game to do this?), and actually using the full range of the difficulty scale). It's a bit of an awkward spot right now, where it really can't decide whether or not to go full SDVX or not, and feels somewhat half-assed in both respects.

The one thing I'd like to see in DDR are song contests, as seen in games like SDVX, MUSECA, and pop'n music. It would be great to have more original content in the series outside of just the in-house artists and only a select number of commissioned artists.
